This marks the third consecutive month of decline and the fourth consecutive month of decline overall, reaching its lowest level in 16 months since July 2022. On examining the components of the TISI, it was found that nearly all components have declined, including the overall order index, overall sales, production volume, and business performance, except for the confidence in operational costs which has improved due to government measures to reduce electricity rates and diesel prices, resulting in a decrease in production costs. Overall, negative factors stem from the slow recovery of the domestic economy, with consumer purchasing power remaining weak, leading to a slowdown in demand for industrial products and manufacturing, particularly in the fashion, construction materials, machinery, and electrical and electronic appliances sectors. Meanwhile, the ability to raise product prices remains constrained amid high price competition. Additionally, the upward trend in borrowing interest rates translates into increased financial costs, adding to the debt burden on operators. The depreciation of the Thai baht has led to increased import costs and raw material prices. Furthermore, flooding issues in several areas pose obstacles to operations and adversely affect local economies. However, there are still positive factors from recovering foreign demand, reflected in increased orders, particularly from key export markets such as Europe, Japan, and the Middle East, as well as the benefits of the "visa-free" measures for tourists from China and Kazakhstan, which support the recovery of the tourism sector.
