ดัชนีความเชื่อมั่นภาคอุตสาหกรรมในเดือนสิงหาคม 2566 อยู่ที่ระดับ 91.3 ปรับตัวลดลง จาก 92.3 ในเดือนกรกฎาคม ปรับตัวลงติดต่อกันเป็นเดือนที่สอง และต่ำสุดในรอบ 1 ปี เมื่อพิจารณาองค์ประกอบของค่าดัชนีฯ พบว่าปรับตัวลดลงเกือบทุกองค์ประกอบ ทั้งดัชนีฯ คำสั่งซื้อโดยรวม ยอดขายโดยรวม ปริมาณการผลิต และผลประกอบการ ยกเว้นต้นทุนประกอบการ ทั้งนี้ความเชื่อมั่นภาคอุตสาหกรรมในเดือนสิงหาคม 2566 ที่ปรับลดลงเป็นผลมาจากการส่งออกที่ชะลอตัวตามภาวะเศรษฐกิจโลก และกำลังซื้อของประเทศคู่ค้าที่อ่อนแอโดยเฉพาะสหรัฐอเมริกา จีน และยุโรป ส่งผลให้ความต้องการสินค้าอุตสาหกรรมลดลง ขณะที่เศรษฐกิจในประเทศยังฟื้นตัวช้า โดยมีปัจจัยเสี่ยงจากปัญหาหนี้ภาคครัวเรือนและภาคธุรกิจที่อยู่ในระดับสูง อัตราดอกเบี้ยเงินกู้ที่เพิ่มสูงขึ้น ทำให้ต้นทุนทางการเงินและภาระหนี้ของผู้ประกอบการเพิ่มขึ้น ขณะที่สภาพอากาศที่แปรปรวนจากผลกระทบปรากฏการณ์เอลนีโญ ส่งผลให้ผลผลิตทางการเกษตรและรายได้ของเกษตรกรลดลง กดดันกำลังซื้อในส่วนภูมิภาค นอกจากนี้ผู้ประกอบการยังมีความกังวลต่อการขับเคลื่อนเศรษฐกิจภายใต้รัฐบาลผสม แต่อย่างไรก็ตาม ยังมีปัจจัยสนับสนุนจากการขยายตัวของภาคการท่องเที่ยวช่วยสนันสนุนการบริโภคในประเทศ รวมถึงอัตราเงินเฟ้อที่ปรับตัวลดลง
The Thai Industries Sentiment Index (TISI) in August 2023 stands at 91.3, a decrease from 92.3 in July, marking the second consecutive month of decline and the lowest level in a year. When considering the components of the index, nearly all indicators have decreased, including the overall order index, overall sales, production volume, and performance, with the exception of operational costs. The decline in TISI for August 2023 is attributed to a slowdown in exports due to the global economic situation and weak purchasing power from trading partners, particularly the United States, China, and Europe, leading to a reduced demand for industrial goods. Meanwhile, the domestic economy continues to recover slowly, with risk factors stemming from high household and business debt levels, rising loan interest rates increasing financial costs and debt burdens for operators, and erratic weather due to the El Niño phenomenon affecting agricultural output and farmer incomes, putting pressure on regional purchasing power. Additionally, operators are concerned about driving the economy under a coalition government. However, there are supporting factors from the growth of the tourism sector that aids domestic consumption, along with a decrease in inflation rates.
