On Tuesday, October 22, 2024, Mr. Panithan Pawarolharwattana, Deputy Secretary-General of the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI), represented FTI as a speaker at the seminar titled "The U.S. Election 2024 : Weird VS Woke and its Global Consequences" alongside Assoc. Prof. Dr. Wannapa Leerasiri from the Faculty of Political Science and Public Administration, Chiang Mai University. The event was organized by the National Intelligence Agency at True Space, 4th floor, Siam Square.
During the seminar, FTI provided insights on the trade situation between Thailand and the United States, U.S. investments in Thailand, and exchanged views on the U.S. elections and the foreign policy directions of the United States post-election, which may impact Thailand and ASEAN. The outcome of the U.S. election is something that Thailand cannot control; thus, it is necessary to prepare, such as by following news updates to respond to potential U.S. measures that may arise in the future, such as trade barriers and uncertainties from geopolitical conflicts, in order to seek export opportunities and maintain Thailand's production supply chain within the global production network, as well as to enhance Thailand's role as a preferred choice for foreign trade and investment in the future.
