The Federation of Thai Industries (FTI), through the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Institute (SMI), has been awarded the Outstanding SME Service Provider Award for three consecutive years, from 2024 to 2026. This award reflects FTI's continuous efforts to support and enhance the capabilities of Thai SMEs. In 2024, FTI received an award for operational performance, in 2025 it earned the Operational Excellent Award, and most recently in 2026, it was recognized for outstanding performance in the area of distribution channel development and marketing.
On September 17, 2026, Mr. Metha Simavara, a board member of SMI at the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI), attended the award ceremony for the Outstanding SME Service Provider Award 2026, presented by the Office of Small and Medium Enterprises Promotion (OSMEP). This year, a total of six awards were presented to six organizations with outstanding performance in providing services and support to SMEs at the Carlton Hotel, Bangkok.
This achievement reflects SMI's role as a Business Development Service Provider (BDSP) that serves as an intermediary connecting SMEs to accessible development business services and support entitlements, ranging from information provision and consultation, assessing business needs, connecting marketing services and participating in trade shows, to product development, standards, and technology, as well as coordinating with relevant agencies and partners.
Additionally, SMI also aids and advises enterprises throughout the process of utilizing entitlements under the BDS project, from application and service selection, document preparation, service fee payment, participation evidence, to reimbursement documentation, helping to minimize errors and enabling SMEs to access support measures effectively.
Therefore, the core of the operations does not merely focus on reducing costs through co-payment support measures in accordance with project criteria but instead employs these support mechanisms to assist SMEs in lowering development costs, accessing quality services, expanding marketing channels, and creating competitive business opportunities.
The award received for three consecutive years is thus another testament to the operations of FTI and SMI in collaboration with OSMEP, trade show partners, and relevant agencies, linking opportunities and enhancing the capabilities of Thai SMEs to grow sustainably. Furthermore, FTI's services have been ranked as the most sought-after services by SMEs in the category of “Domestic/International Marketing Channels.”
