This discussion focused on driving the 7 target industries, namely Agriculture and Food Processing, Automotive, Retail and Trade, Smart Electronics, Medical and Wellness, Tourism, and Creative Economy, to become crucial forces in propelling the Thai economy to grow by no less than 3% per year through value-chain alignment, issue-based alignment, and linking cross-cutting enablers, allowing each group to leverage strengths and create added value collaboratively.
Meanwhile, representatives from the 7 industrial groups reported on the progress of the action plan, which encompasses three key phases, including:
- Stabilize Today, focusing on addressing current urgent issues;
- Transition Now, supporting operators to adapt to changes; and
- Invest for Tomorrow, laying the foundation for future investment and growth.
The next step will involve the private sector, under the JSCC, preparing proposals from all 7 industry groups to present to the Joint Government-Private Sector Committee for Economic Issues (GEC), aiming to transform policy proposals into clear operational guidelines, facilitate collaboration between the public and private sectors, and create tangible economic outcomes to lay the foundation for Thailand to advance to a high-income country by 2037.
