Mrs. Pimjai stated, "The key point is to push for the Local Content Contribution to yield tangible results, creating opportunities for Thai SMEs to increase economic value domestically and maintain the competitiveness of the Thai automotive industry in the long term."
FTI is ready to collaborate with the private sector and related government agencies to push forward policy proposals and develop a transparent, verifiable, and practical Local Content certification framework, alongside improving regulations and reducing barriers to business operations, to promote investment and enhance the Thai automotive industry for robust and sustainable growth under the Reinvent Thailand strategy. Currently, the automotive and parts industry accounts for approximately 10% of Thailand's GDP, and the growth of this industry will create opportunities and promote the growth of businesses throughout the supply chain.
As a result of this meeting, FTI will present the plans to Dr. Aeknathi Nitithanprapas, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, for consideration. Subsequently, the plans will be submitted to the Joint Public and Private Sector Committee for Economic Problem Solving (KrO.) for further action.
