วันที่ 27 มกราคม 2568 นางสาวเพชรรัตน์ เอกแสงกุล รองประธานสภาอุตสาหกรรมแห่งประเทศไทย (ส.อ.ท.) พร้อมด้วยนายชยุตม์ ศรีเพียร รองเลขาธิการฯ นางยุพิน บุญศิริจันทร์ ประธานกลุ่มอุตสาหกรรมยานยนต์ และผู้แทนกลุ่มอุตสาหกรรมยานยนต์ ร่วมให้การต้อนรับ Ms. Lina Cherrat, Head of Mutual Recognition Agreements, Department for Business and Trade และคณะผู้เชี่ยวชาญด้านนโยบายเทคนิคการค้าจากสหราชอาณาจักร เพื่อแลกเปลี่ยนข้อมูลเกี่ยวกับโครงการ Made in Thailand (MiT) สภาพแวดล้อมการดำเนินธุรกิจในประเทศไทย และหารือถึงแนวทางความร่วมมือระหว่างกันในสาขาที่มีศักยภาพ ภายใต้หุ้นส่วนทางการค้าที่แน่นแฟ้น (Enhanced Trade Partnership: ETP) ไทย-สหราชอาณาจักร อาทิ ยานยนต์ อาหารและเครื่องดื่ม ตลอดจนความร่วมมือด้านการจัดทำมาตรฐานร่วมกัน ณ ห้อง PFP Healthy, Tasty ส.อ.ท.
ภายหลังจากสหราชอาณาจักรถอนตัวจากการเป็นสมาชิกสหภาพยุโรป (BREXIT) สหราชอาณาจักรและประเทศไทย ได้ร่วมลงนามในบันทึกความเข้าใจว่าด้วยการเป็นหุ้นส่วนทางการค้าที่แน่นแฟ้น (Enhanced Trade Partnership: ETP) เมื่อวันที่ 18 กันยายน 2567 โดย ETP เป็นความตกลงที่ไม่มีผลผูกพันทางกฎหมาย มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อยกระดับความสัมพันธ์ทวิภาคี ลดอุปสรรคทางการค้า และส่งเสริมบรรยากาศการประกอบธุรกิจระหว่างสองประเทศ รวมถึงแลกเปลี่ยนข้อมูลด้านเทคนิคและกฎหมายในประเด็นที่ทั้งสองฝ่ายให้ความสนใจ และกำหนดมาตรฐานร่วมกัน โดยการพัฒนาความร่วมมือภายใต้กรอบบันทึกความเข้าใจฉบับนี้ จะเป็นรากฐานสำคัญที่นำไปสู่การยกระดับความสัมพันธ์ทางการค้าในรูปแบบของความตกลงเขตการค้าเสรีระหว่างประเทศไทย-สหราชอาณาจักรในอนาคต
On January 27, 2025, Ms. Pechrat Eaksangkul, Vice President of the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI), along with Mr. Chayut Sripian, Deputy Secretary-General, Ms. Yupin Boonsirichan, Chairwoman of the Automotive Industry Group, and representatives from the automotive industry, welcomed Ms. Lina Cherrat, Head of Mutual Recognition Agreements, Department for Business and Trade, and the delegation of trade policy experts from the United Kingdom to exchange information regarding the Made in Thailand (MiT) project, the business operating environment in Thailand, and to discuss potential collaboration within the Enhanced Trade Partnership (ETP) between Thailand and the United Kingdom in sectors such as automotive, food and beverage, as well as cooperation in establishing joint standards at PFP Healthy, Tasty, FTI.
Following the United Kingdom's withdrawal from the European Union (BREXIT), the United Kingdom and Thailand signed a Memorandum of Understanding on the Enhanced Trade Partnership (ETP) on September 18, 2024. The ETP is a non-binding agreement aimed at enhancing bilateral relations, reducing trade barriers, and promoting a business-friendly atmosphere between the two countries. It also includes the exchange of technical and legal information on issues of mutual interest and the establishment of joint standards. The development of cooperation under this memorandum will serve as a crucial foundation for enhancing trade relations in the form of a free trade agreement between Thailand and the United Kingdom in the future.
