On January 27, 2025, Mr. Kiang-Krai Thian-Nukul, Chairman of the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI), along with Mr. Vichawon Rukphongpairoj, Mr. Wiwat Hemmanatharap, Vice Chairmen, and representatives from the Textile Industry Group, the Food and Beverage Industry Group, welcomed H.E. Mr. Faiyaz Murshid Kazi, Ambassador of Bangladesh to Thailand, on the occasion of his new appointment at the Mongkolsuthee Room, FTI.
The economic relationship between Thailand and Bangladesh has been continuously developing, with both countries experiencing growth in trade and investment. Thailand exports major products to Bangladesh such as automobiles and parts, machinery, refined oil, chemicals, and consumer goods, while Bangladesh exports important products to Thailand, including agricultural goods, textile products, and ready-made garments. Thailand has become one of Bangladesh's top trading partners in ASEAN in terms of investment, with an increasing role, particularly in the food, agriculture, and infrastructure industries. Meanwhile, Bangladesh has demonstrated its potential as a center for low-cost product manufacturing and a market with a population of over 170 million, more than half of whom are under 40 years of age. The FTI sees Bangladesh as a new market with potential for Thai businesses, particularly in the textile and apparel, food, beverage, fishing, telecommunications, and medical industries.
