ล่าสุดเมื่อวันที่ 9 ตุลาคม 2569 นายปณิธาน ปวโรฬารวิทยา เลขาธิการสภาอุตสาหกรรมแห่งประเทศไทย (ส.อ.ท.) ได้เข้าร่วมงานเลี้ยงรับรองและมอบกระเช้าดอกไม้แสดงความยินดีแก่ H.E. Mr. Manuel Nuche Bascón เอกอัครราชทูตราชอาณาจักรสเปนประจำประเทศไทย เนื่องในโอกาสวันชาติสเปน โดยภายในงานได้รับเกียรติจากนายสีหศักดิ์ พวงเกตุแก้ว รองนายกรัฐมนตรีและรัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงการต่างประเทศ ร่วมกล่าวแสดงความยินดี ณ โรงแรมเดอะ ริทซ์-คาร์ลตัน กรุงเทพฯ
ในปี 2568 ไทยและสเปนมีมูลค่าการค้ารวม 1,924.55 ล้านดอลลาร์สหรัฐ โดยสินค้าส่งออกสำคัญของไทย ได้แก่ เครื่องใช้ไฟฟ้า ยานยนต์และชิ้นส่วน และผลิตภัณฑ์ยาง ขณะที่สินค้านำเข้าสำคัญจากสเปน ได้แก่ ยาและผลิตภัณฑ์ทางการแพทย์ เคมีภัณฑ์ และเครื่องยนต์สันดาป
สำหรับด้านการลงทุน บริษัทสัญชาติสเปนได้เข้ามาดำเนินธุรกิจและลงทุนในประเทศไทยในหลากหลายสาขา อาทิ อุตสาหกรรมยานยนต์และชิ้นส่วน พลังงานสะอาด และสินค้าแฟชั่นและเครื่องแต่งกาย ซึ่งสะท้อนถึงศักยภาพของไทยในการเป็นฐานการผลิตและเชื่อมโยงห่วงโซ่อุปทานในภูมิภาคอาเซียน ขณะเดียวกัน ภาคธุรกิจไทยได้ขยายการลงทุนในสเปนในสาขาต่าง ๆ อาทิ อุตสาหกรรมอาหาร ธุรกิจโรงแรมและการบริการ และเคมีภัณฑ์
นอกจากนี้ ไทยและสเปนยังมีความร่วมมือด้านอุตสาหกรรมต่อเรือและเทคโนโลยีทางทะเลมาอย่างยาวนาน โดยหนึ่งในตัวอย่างสำคัญคือ โครงการจัดสร้างเรือหลวงจักรีนฤเบศร ซึ่งออกแบบและต่อโดยบริษัท Bazán ของสเปน และส่งมอบให้กองทัพเรือไทยในปี 2540 สะท้อนถึงความร่วมมือด้านเทคโนโลยีขั้นสูงและอุตสาหกรรมป้องกันประเทศระหว่างสองประเทศ ซึ่งสามารถเป็นพื้นฐานในการต่อยอดความร่วมมือด้านอุตสาหกรรมและการพัฒนาบุคลากรในอนาคต
ทั้งนี้ ความคืบหน้าของการเจรจาความตกลงการค้าเสรีระหว่างไทยกับสหภาพยุโรป (Thailand–EU FTA) จะเป็นอีกหนึ่งกลไกสำคัญในการส่งเสริมการค้าและการลงทุนระหว่างไทยกับสเปน ผ่านการลดอุปสรรคทางการค้า การเพิ่มโอกาสในการเข้าถึงตลาดและการเชื่อมโยงห่วงโซ่อุปทานระหว่างภาคธุรกิจของทั้งสองประเทศ ซึ่งจะช่วยต่อยอดความสัมพันธ์อันแน่นแฟ้นและเสริมสร้างความร่วมมือทางเศรษฐกิจและอุตสาหกรรมให้เติบโตอย่างมั่นคงและยั่งยืนต่อไป

Recently, on October 9, 2026, Panitarn Pavarolavidya, Secretary-General of the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI), attended a reception and presented a congratulations flower basket to H.E. Mr. Manuel Nuche Bascón, the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Spain to Thailand, on the occasion of Spain's National Day. The event was graced by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Mr. Surapong Tovichakchaikul, who also extended his congratulations at The Ritz-Carlton Hotel, Bangkok.
In 2025, the total trade value between Thailand and Spain reached USD 1,924.55 million, with key Thai exports including electrical appliances, automotive and components, and rubber products. Meanwhile, significant imports from Spain included pharmaceuticals and medical products, chemicals, and combustion engines.
Regarding investment, Spanish companies have entered various business sectors and invested in Thailand, such as automotive and components, clean energy, and fashion and apparel. This reflects Thailand's potential as a manufacturing base and a supply chain hub within the ASEAN region. At the same time, Thai businesses have expanded their investment in Spain across sectors such as food industry, hospitality and services, and chemicals.
Moreover, Thailand and Spain have long-standing cooperation in the shipbuilding industry and maritime technology, with one key example being the construction of HTMS Chakkri Naruebet, designed and built by Spain's Bazán company and delivered to the Royal Thai Navy in 1997. This reflects advanced technology cooperation and defense industry collaboration between the two countries, which can lay the groundwork for further industrial cooperation and human resource development in the future.
Furthermore, the progress of negotiations on the Thailand–European Union Free Trade Agreement (Thailand–EU FTA) will serve as another important mechanism to promote trade and investment between Thailand and Spain by reducing trade barriers, increasing market access opportunities, and connecting supply chains between the business sectors of both countries. This will help advance strong relationships and foster sustainable economic and industrial cooperation.
