เมื่อวันพฤหัสบดีที่ 6 มิถุนายน 2567 นายมนตรี มหาพฤกษ์พงศ์ ประธานกิตติมศักดิ์สภาธุรกิจไทย-ละตินอเมริกา พร้อมด้วยนายธีระ กิตติธีรพรชัย รองเลขาธิการ ส.อ.ท. และคณะกรรมการสภาธุรกิจฯ เข้าเยี่ยมคารวะนางอิลเซ ลิเลียน เฟร์เรร์ ซิลบา (Ilse Lilián Ferrer Silva) เอกอัครราชทูตสหรัฐเม็กซิโกประจำประเทศไทย เนื่องในโอกาสเข้ารับตำแหน่งใหม่ พร้อมหารือแนวทางการส่งเสริมและสนับสนุนการค้า การลงทุนระหว่างไทย-เม็กซิโก ณ สถานเอกอัครราชทูตเม็กซิโก ประจำประเทศไทย
ที่ประชุมได้มีการหารือถึงความร่วมมือในการจัดทำแผนกิจกรรมเนื่องในโอกาสครบรอบ 50 ปี ความสัมพันธ์ทางการทูตไทย-เม็กซิโกที่จะเกิดขึ้นในปี 2568 ดังนี้
1. การจัดคณะนักธุรกิจเดินทางมายังประเทศไทยในช่วงต้นปี 2568 ในอุตสาหกรรมที่มีศักยภาพ ได้แก่ อุตสาหกรรมการเกษตร (Agriculture Industry) อุตสาหกรรมการบิน (Aviation Industry) และอุตสาหกรรมสีเขียว (Green Indusrty)
2. ความร่วมมือในการสถาปนาความสัมพันธ์เมืองพี่เมืองน้อง (Sister City) เพื่อส่งเสริมความร่วมมือในด้านอุตสาหกรรม ที่ทั้ง 2 ฝ่ายมีความโดดเด่นและร่วมมือกัน
3. การถ่ายทอดเทคโนโลยี (Transfer Technology) จากอุตสาหกรรม ชิ้นส่วนและอะไหล่ยานยนต์สู่อุตสาหกรรมการบิน เนื่องจาก ประเทศไทยมีการส่งชิ้นส่วนและอะไหล่ยานยนต์ไปยังเม็กซิโกจำนวนมาก และเม็กซิโกยังเป็นฐานการผลิตชิ้นส่วนในอุตสาหกรรมการบินที่มีชื่อเสียงระดับโลก
4. การเชิญชวนนักธุรกิจเข้ามาลงทุนในพื้นที่เขตเศรษฐกิจพิเศษ ภาคตะวันออก (EEC) ของไทย
On Thursday, June 6, 2024, Mr. Montree Mahapruessapong, Honorary Chairman of the Thai-Latin American Business Council, accompanied by Mr. Thira Kitti-Thiraponchai, Deputy Secretary-General of the FTI, and members of the Business Council, paid a courtesy visit to Ms. Ilse Lilián Ferrer Silva, the Ambassador of Mexico to Thailand, on the occasion of her new appointment, and discussed ways to promote and support trade and investment between Thailand and Mexico at the Mexican Embassy in Thailand.
The meeting discussed cooperation in organizing activities to commemorate the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Thailand and Mexico, which will occur in 2025, including the following:
1. Organizing a delegation of businesspeople to visit Thailand in early 2025 in sectors with potential, including the Agriculture Industry, Aviation Industry, and Green Industry.
2. Cooperation in establishing Sister City relationships to enhance collaboration in industries where both parties excel and can work together.
3. Technology Transfer from the automotive parts industry to the aviation industry, as Thailand exports a significant number of automotive parts to Mexico, and Mexico is a globally recognized hub for aviation parts manufacturing.
4. Inviting business investors to invest in Thailand's Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC).
