เมื่อวันที่ 4 มิถุนายน 2567 นายเกรียงไกร เธียรนุกุล ประธานสภาอุตสาหกรรมแห่งประเทศไทย (ส.อ.ท.) พร้อมด้วย ดร.วิบูลย์ รักสาสน์เจริญผล กรรมการบริหาร ส.อ.ท. เข้าร่วมงานเลี้ยงรับรองและมอบกระเช้าดอกไม้แสดงความยินดีกับนายเปาโล ดีโอนีซี (H.E. Mr. Paolo Dionisi) เอกอัครราชทูตสาธารณรัฐอิตาลีประจำประเทศไทย เนื่องในโอกาสครบรอบ 78 ปี วันสาธารณรัฐของสาธารณรัฐอิตาลี (Italian Republic) ณ โรงแรมโฟร์ซีซั่นส์ กรุงเทพฯ ริมแม่น้ำเจ้าพระยา
ประเทศอิตาลีรวมตัวกันก่อตั้งเป็นประเทศเมื่อปี 1861 หรือถ้าย้อนกลับไปเมื่อ 159 ปีก่อน โดย ”กษัตริย์วิคเตอร์ เอ็มมานูเอล” ได้รวมรัฐต่างๆ ที่อยู่ในคาบสมุทรนี้และเกาะซิซิลี มาสถาปนาเป็นราชอาณาจักรอิตาลี
ต่อมาเมื่อสงครามโลกครั้งที่ 2 สิ้นสุดลง อิตาลีที่มีพระเจ้าวิคเตอร์ เอ็มมานูเอลที่ 3 กษัตริย์ที่ยังคงปกครองอยู่ ในขณะนั้นได้สละราชสมบัติให้กับพระเจ้าอุมแบร์โตที่ 2 ขึ้นครองราชย์แทน แต่ครองราชย์ได้เพียง 1 เดือนเท่านั้น ประชาชนต่างลงประชามติให้ราชอาณาจักรอิตาลีเปลี่ยนแปลงการปกครองจากระบอบกษัตริย์ มาเป็นระบอบสาธารณรัฐภายใต้ระบอบประชาธิปไตย เมื่อวันที่ 2 มิถุนายน ปี 1946
ตั้งแต่บัดนั้นเป็นต้นมา ชื่อเต็มของประเทศอิตาลี ก็คือ “สาธารณรัฐอิตาลี (Italian Republic)”
On June 4, 2024, Mr. Kriangkrai Thiennukul, Chairman of the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI), along with Dr. Wiboon Raksasatjaroenphol, FTI Executive Board Member, attended a reception and presented a bouquet to congratulate H.E. Mr. Paolo Dionisi, Ambassador of the Italian Republic to Thailand, on the occasion of the 78th Anniversary of the Italian Republic at the Four Seasons Hotel Bangkok by the Chao Phraya River.
Italy unified to become a country in 1861, or 159 years ago, when King Victor Emmanuel united the various states on the peninsula and the island of Sicily to establish the Kingdom of Italy.
Later, after World War II ended, Italy, under King Victor Emmanuel III, who was still ruling at that time, abdicated in favor of King Umberto II, who reigned for only one month. The citizens voted in a referendum to change the Kingdom of Italy from a monarchy to a republic under a democratic system on June 2, 1946.
Since then, the full name of Italy has been “Italian Republic.”
