เมื่อวันที่ 27 พฤษภาคม 2567 นายทองดี ปาโส รองประธานกลุ่มอุตสาหกรรมอาหารและเครื่องดื่ม สภาอุตสาหกรรมแห่งประเทศไทย (ส.อ.ท.) พร้อมด้วยคณะกรรมการและสมาชิก ส.อ.ท ให้การต้อนรับคณะนักธุรกิจจากประเทศศรีลังกา (Sri Lanka Export Development Board) ณ ห้องประชุม PTT Group (1012) ชั้น 10 ส.อ.ท.
ที่ประชุมได้มีการหารือความร่วมมือและสร้างเครือข่ายทางธุรกิจระหว่างผู้ประกอบการในกลุ่มอุตสาหกรรมอาหาร อาหารแปรรูป เครื่องดื่ม สมุนไพร และโลจิสติกส์ ซึ่งทางประเทศศรีลังกา เป็นประเทศที่มีความโดดเด่นและมีความสมบูรณ์ในเรื่องของสินค้าอาหารทะเล การประมง ยาง ชา มะพร้าว รวมถึงทรัพยากรสินแร่จากธรรมชาติ โดยผู้ประกอบการในศรีลังกามีความต้องการที่จะแลกเปลี่ยน ความรู้และถ่ายทอดเทคโนโลยีจากไทยในการปรับปรุงขั้นตอนกระบวนการผลิตในอุตสาหกรรม และการปรับตัวเข้าสู่เทคโนโลยีสีเขียว (Green Technology)
ปัจจุบัน ประเทศไทยและศรีลังกาได้มีการลงนามความตกลงการค้าเสรี (FTA) ระหว่างกัน โดยไทยสามารถใช้ประโยชน์จาก FTA กับศรีลังกา ไปยังตลาดอื่นในเอเชียใต้และศรีลังกาก็สามารถใช้ประโยชน์จาก FTA ของไทยไปยังประเทศอื่นในอาเซียนได้เช่นกัน
On May 27, 2024, Mr. Thongdee Paso, Vice Chairman of the Food and Beverage Industry group of the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI), along with the board members and FTI members, welcomed a business delegation from Sri Lanka Export Development Board at the PTT Group meeting room (1012) on the 10th floor of FTI.
The meeting discussed cooperation and business networking among entrepreneurs in the food industry, processed food, beverages, herbal products, and logistics. Sri Lanka is notable for its comprehensive seafood products, fishing, rubber, tea, coconut, as well as natural mineral resources. The Sri Lankan entrepreneurs expressed their interest in exchanging knowledge and transferring technology from Thailand to improve production processes in the industry and adapting to green technology.
Currently, Thailand and Sri Lanka have signed a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between them, allowing Thailand to benefit from the FTA with Sri Lanka to access other markets in South Asia, while Sri Lanka can also utilize Thailand's FTA to engage with other ASEAN countries.
