เมื่อวันที่ 27 กรกฎาคม 2569 นายเจน นำชัยศิริ รองประธานสายงานกิจการต่างประเทศ สภาอุตสาหกรรมแห่งประเทศไทย (ส.อ.ท.) เป็นผู้แทนเข้าร่วมงานเลี้ยงรับรองเนื่องในโอกาสวันชาติสาธารณรัฐลิทัวเนีย พร้อมมอบกระเช้าดอกไม้แสดงความยินดีแก่ H.E. Mr. Kęstutis Budrys รัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงการต่างประเทศแห่งสาธารณรัฐลิทัวเนีย ในโอกาสครบรอบ 108 ปีแห่งการสถาปนารัฐลิทัวเนีย และครบรอบ 36 ปีแห่งการฟื้นฟูเอกราชของสาธารณรัฐลิทัวเนีย
งานดังกล่าวจัดขึ้นโดยนางนวลพรรณ ล่ำซำ กงสุลกิตติมศักดิ์สาธารณรัฐลิทัวเนียประจำประเทศไทย โดยได้รับเกียรติจากนายอนุทิน ชาญวีรกูล นายกรัฐมนตรีและรัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงมหาดไทย ร่วมกล่าวแสดงความยินดีในโอกาสดังกล่าว ณ บ้านปาร์คนายเลิศ กรุงเทพมหานคร
ประเทศไทยและสาธารณรัฐลิทัวเนียมีความสัมพันธ์อันดีและยาวนาน โดยราชอาณาจักรสยามได้ให้การรับรองสาธารณรัฐลิทัวเนียโดยนิตินัยเมื่อปี พ.ศ. 2466 ก่อนที่ทั้งสองประเทศจะสถาปนาความสัมพันธ์ทางการทูตอย่างเป็นทางการเมื่อวันที่ 9 เมษายน พ.ศ. 2536
นับตั้งแต่นั้นมา ความสัมพันธ์ทวิภาคีได้พัฒนาอย่างต่อเนื่องและครอบคลุมในหลากหลายมิติ ทั้งด้านการเมือง เศรษฐกิจ การค้า การลงทุน วัฒนธรรม ตลอดจนสาขาแห่งอนาคต อาทิ วิทยาศาสตร์ เทคโนโลยีดิจิทัล นวัตกรรม และความมั่นคงทางไซเบอร์
ในช่วงไม่กี่ปีที่ผ่านมา ความร่วมมือระหว่างทั้งสองประเทศมีความก้าวหน้าอย่างเป็นรูปธรรม โดยในปี พ.ศ. 2567 ไทยและลิทัวเนียได้ลงนามความตกลงยกเว้นการตรวจลงตราสำหรับผู้ถือหนังสือเดินทางการทูตและหนังสือเดินทางราชการ ซึ่งมีผลใช้บังคับตั้งแต่วันที่ 7 เมษายน พ.ศ. 2568 เป็นต้นมา
นอกจากนี้ ปี พ.ศ. 2569 ซึ่งเป็นวาระครบรอบ 33 ปีแห่งการสถาปนาความสัมพันธ์ทางการทูตไทย–ลิทัวเนีย รัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงการต่างประเทศแห่งสาธารณรัฐลิทัวเนียได้เดินทางเยือนประเทศไทยอย่างเป็นทางการ นับเป็นการเยือนในระดับรัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงการต่างประเทศของลิทัวเนียครั้งแรกในรอบ 22 ปี โดยการเยือนครั้งนี้ถือเป็นหมุดหมายสำคัญที่สะท้อนถึงความมุ่งมั่นร่วมกันของทั้งสองประเทศในการกระชับความสัมพันธ์และขยายความร่วมมือในสาขาที่มีศักยภาพ เพื่อประโยชน์ร่วมกันในอนาคต
On July 27, 2026, Mr. Jane Namchaisiri, Vice Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Division of the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI), represented the organization at a reception held in celebration of the Republic of Lithuania's National Day, where he presented a flower basket to H.E. Mr. Kęstutis Budrys, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania, on the occasion of the 108th anniversary of the establishment of the Lithuanian state and the 36th anniversary of the restoration of independence of the Republic of Lithuania.
The event was organized by Ms. Nualpan Lamsam, Honorary Consul of the Republic of Lithuania in Thailand, and was honored by the presence of Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, who also delivered congratulatory remarks at the event held at the Park Nai Lert House in Bangkok.
Thailand and the Republic of Lithuania have enjoyed a long-standing and cordial relationship, with the Kingdom of Siam officially recognizing the Republic of Lithuania in legal terms in 1923, before the two countries established formal diplomatic relations on April 9, 1993.
Since then, bilateral relations have continually developed and expanded across various dimensions, including political, economic, trade, investment, cultural, and future fields such as science, digital technology, innovation, and cybersecurity.
In recent years, cooperation between the two countries has made significant progress. In 2024, Thailand and Lithuania signed an agreement exempting visa requirements for holders of diplomatic and official passports, which came into effect on April 7, 2025.
Moreover, the year 2026 marks the 33rd anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Thailand and Lithuania, during which the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania undertook an official visit to Thailand. This visit marks the first by a Lithuanian Minister of Foreign Affairs in 22 years and is a significant milestone reflecting the mutual commitment of both countries to strengthen relations and expand cooperation in areas with potential for mutual benefit in the future.
