เมื่อวันที่ 1 มีนาคม 2567 นายเกรียงไกร เธียรนุกุล ประธานสภาอุตสาหกรรมแห่งประเทศไทย (ส.อ.ท.) พร้อมด้วยนายมนตรี มหาพฤกษ์พงศ์ และนายอรินทร์ จิรา รองประธาน ส.อ.ท. ให้การต้อนรับและหารือกับ H.E. Mr. Pedro Pablo San Jorge Rodriguez เอกอัครราชทูตคิวบาประจำประเทศไทย ณ ห้องมงคลสุธี ส.อ.ท.
ทั้งสองฝ่ายได้มีการหารือถึงการค้า การลงทุนระหว่างกัน โดยคิวบาเป็นประเทศที่มีศักยภาพด้านไบโอเทคโนโลยี (Biotechnology) ซึ่งได้มีการร่วมทุนกับบริษัทของไทย เพื่อส่งผ่านเทคโนโลยีของคิวบาเพื่อการพัฒนาชีวเภสัชภัณฑ์ อีกทั้งเป็นแหล่งทรัพยากรประมงที่สำคัญของภูมิภาคลาตินอเมริกา ซึ่งเป็นโอกาสของไทยที่มีความเชี่ยวชาญในการแปรรูปผลิตภัณฑ์ประมงและอาหาร
ทั้งนี้ สถานเอกอัครราชทูตฯ ได้เชิญชวนภาคเอกชนไทยเข้าร่วมงาน Havana International Fair ซึ่งเป็นงานแสดงสินค้าขนาดใหญ่ที่สุดของคิวบา โดยมีกำหนดจัดขึ้นระหว่างวันที่ 5-9 พฤศจิกายน 2567 ณ EXPOCUBA กรุงฮาวานา ประเทศคิวบา ซึ่งเป็นโอกาสที่ดีสำหรับภาคธุรกิจและองค์กรต่างๆ จากทั่วโลกในการนำเสนอผลิตภัณฑ์ สำรวจโอกาสในการค้า การลงทุน และสร้างเครือข่ายทางธุรกิจในตลาดคิวบา รวมทั้งภูมิภาคลาตินอเมริกาอีกด้วย
On March 1, 2024, Mr. Kriangkrai Thiennukul, Chairman of the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI), along with Mr. Montree Mahapruetpong and Mr. Arin Jira, Vice Chairman of FTI, welcomed and discussed with H.E. Mr. Pedro Pablo San Jorge Rodriguez, the Ambassador of Cuba to Thailand, at the Mongkol Suthee Room, FTI.
Both parties discussed trade and investment opportunities, highlighting Cuba as a country with significant biotechnology potential. This includes joint ventures with Thai companies to transfer Cuban technology for the development of biopharmaceuticals. Additionally, Cuba is an important fishing resource in the Latin American region, presenting an opportunity for Thailand, which has expertise in processing seafood and food products.
The Cuban Embassy also invited the Thai private sector to participate in the Havana International Fair, the largest trade exhibition in Cuba, scheduled to take place from November 5-9, 2024, at EXPOCUBA in Havana, Cuba. This presents a great opportunity for businesses and organizations from around the world to showcase products, explore trade and investment opportunities, and establish business networks in the Cuban market as well as in the Latin American region.
