เมื่อวันที่ 11 มิถุนายน 2569 นางกลอยตา ณ ถลาง กรรมการสายงานกิจการต่างประเทศ สภาอุตสาหกรรมแห่งประเทศไทย (ส.อ.ท.) เป็นผู้แทนในนาม ส.อ.ท. เข้าร่วมงานเลี้ยงรับรองและมอบกระเช้าดอกไม้แสดงความยินดีแก่ H.E. Mr. Patrick Hemmer เอกอัครราชทูตลักเซมเบิร์กประจำประเทศไทย เนื่องในโอกาสวันชาติราชรัฐลักเซมเบิร์ก ภายในงานได้รับเกียรติจากนายศรัณย์ เจริญสุวรรณ ผู้ช่วยรัฐมนตรีประจำกระทรวงการต่างประเทศ ร่วมกล่าวแสดงความยินดี ณ โรงแรมสยามเคมปินสกี้ กรุงเทพมหานคร
ประเทศไทยและลักเซมเบิร์กสถาปนาความสัมพันธ์ทางการทูตระหว่างกันเมื่อวันที่ 16 มิถุนายน 2502 และได้พัฒนาความร่วมมืออย่างต่อเนื่องในหลากหลายมิติ ทั้งด้านเศรษฐกิจ การเมือง การเงิน การธนาคาร และสิ่งแวดล้อม ตลอดจนความร่วมมือด้านการพัฒนาอย่างยั่งยืนและนวัตกรรม สะท้อนถึงมิตรภาพอันยาวนานและความร่วมมืออันแน่นแฟ้นระหว่างสองประเทศ
แม้ว่าลักเซมเบิร์กจะมีประชากรเพียงประมาณ 700,000 คน แต่ได้รับการยอมรับให้เป็นหนึ่งในศูนย์กลางทางการเงินที่สำคัญของโลก และเป็นศูนย์กลางการบริหารจัดการกองทุนรวมชั้นนำของยุโรป ด้วยความเชี่ยวชาญด้านการเงิน การธนาคาร และการลงทุนระหว่างประเทศ โดยไทยและลักเซมเบิร์กได้ส่งเสริมความร่วมมือด้านการเงินและตลาดทุนอย่างใกล้ชิดมาอย่างต่อเนื่อง โดยเฉพาะการแลกเปลี่ยนองค์ความรู้และประสบการณ์ด้านเทคโนโลยีทางการเงิน (FinTech) การเงินเพื่อความยั่งยืน (Sustainable Finance) และการเงินสีเขียว (Green Finance) รวมถึงการพัฒนาตลาดทุนให้สอดคล้องกับแนวโน้มเศรษฐกิจโลกและการเปลี่ยนผ่านสู่เศรษฐกิจคาร์บอนต่ำ
นอกจากนี้ ลักเซมเบิร์กยังมีบทบาทสำคัญในการสนับสนุนการผลักดันการเจรจาความตกลงการค้าเสรีไทย–สหภาพยุโรป (Thailand–EU FTA) ซึ่งคาดว่าจะเป็นกลไกสำคัญในการขยายโอกาสทางการค้า การลงทุน และการเชื่อมโยงทางเศรษฐกิจระหว่างไทยกับประเทศสมาชิกสหภาพยุโรป อันจะช่วยเสริมสร้างความร่วมมือด้านเศรษฐกิจ การลงทุน และการแลกเปลี่ยนองค์ความรู้ด้านเทคโนโลยีและนวัตกรรมระหว่างไทยและลักเซมเบิร์กให้แน่นแฟ้นและยั่งยืนยิ่งขึ้นในระยะยาว
On June 11, 2026, Mrs. Kloyta Na Thalang, Committee Member of the International Affairs Division of the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI), represented the FTI at a reception and presented a congratulatory flower basket to H.E. Mr. Patrick Hemmer, the Ambassador of Luxembourg to Thailand, on the occasion of Luxembourg National Day. The event was honored by Mr. Sarun Charoensuwan, Assistant Minister Attached to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, who also expressed congratulations at the Siam Kempinski Hotel, Bangkok.
Thailand and Luxembourg established diplomatic relations on June 16, 1959, and have continuously developed cooperation across various dimensions, including economic, political, financial, banking, and environmental aspects, as well as collaboration on sustainable development and innovation, reflecting the long-standing friendship and close cooperation between the two countries.
Although Luxembourg has a population of only about 700,000, it is recognized as one of the world's major financial centers and is a leading hub for fund management in Europe, with expertise in finance, banking, and international investment. Thailand and Luxembourg have continuously promoted cooperation in finance and capital markets, particularly in the exchange of knowledge and experience in financial technology (FinTech), sustainable finance, and green finance, as well as in developing capital markets in line with global economic trends and the transition to a low-carbon economy.
Moreover, Luxembourg plays a crucial role in supporting the promotion of negotiations for the Thailand–European Union Free Trade Agreement (Thailand–EU FTA), which is expected to be an important mechanism for expanding trade, investment, and economic connectivity between Thailand and European Union member states, thereby enhancing economic cooperation, investment, and the exchange of knowledge in technology and innovation between Thailand and Luxembourg in a stronger and more sustainable manner in the long term.
