ส.อ.ท. เดินหน้าสานต่อความสัมพันธ์ทางเศรษฐกิจไทย–แอฟริกาใต้ เชื่อมเครือข่ายภาคธุรกิจและต่อยอดโอกาสด้านการค้าและการลงทุน ผ่านเวที “South African Night” ซึ่งเป็นอีกหนึ่งช่องทางสำคัญในการสร้างความรู้จักและขยายความร่วมมือระหว่างผู้ประกอบการของทั้งสองประเทศ
ล่าสุดเมื่อวันที่ 24 กันยายน 2569 นายญาณพล ลิมปนะโชคชัย ประธานสภาธุรกิจไทย-แอฟริกาใต้ และนายทรงพล พลเสน ผู้แทนสภาธุรกิจไทย-แอฟริกาใต้ เป็นผู้แทนสภาอุตสาหกรรมแห่งประเทศไทย (ส.อ.ท.) เข้าร่วมงาน “South African Night” เพื่อส่งเสริมความรู้ความเข้าใจเกี่ยวกับสินค้าและวัฒนธรรม ตลอดจนศักยภาพด้านการค้าและเศรษฐกิจของสาธารณรัฐแอฟริกาใต้ รวมถึงเป็นเวทีในการสร้างเครือข่ายและกระชับความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างผู้แทนจากภาครัฐและภาคเอกชนของไทยและแอฟริกาใต้ โดยภายในงาน ได้รับเกียรติจาก H.E. Mr. Darkey Ephraim South Africa เอกอัครราชทูตแอฟริกาใต้ประจำประเทศไทย เป็นประธานกล่าวเปิดงาน ณ The Bangkok Club
นอกจากนี้ ภายในงาน มีการนำเสนออาหารและผลิตภัณฑ์ไวน์จากท้องถิ่นของแอฟริกาใต้ เพื่อสะท้อนเอกลักษณ์และศักยภาพของสินค้าแอฟริกาใต้ ตลอดจนสร้างความคุ้นเคยและเปิดโอกาสให้ภาคธุรกิจไทยได้รู้จักตลาดแอฟริกาใต้ในมิติต่าง ๆ มากยิ่งขึ้น
ในมิติด้านเศรษฐกิจ แอฟริกาใต้นับเป็นหุ้นส่วนทางการค้าที่สำคัญของไทยในภูมิภาคแอฟริกา โดยในปี 2568 แอฟริกาใต้เป็นคู่ค้าอันดับ 1 ของไทยในทวีปแอฟริกา และเป็นคู่ค้าอันดับที่ 28 ของไทยในตลาดโลก มีมูลค่าการค้าระหว่างกันรวมประมาณ 4,072 ล้านดอลลาร์สหรัฐ สินค้าสำคัญที่ไทยนำเข้าและส่งออกกับแอฟริกาใต้ ได้แก่ ยานยนต์และชิ้นส่วน ข้าว เครื่องจักรกลและส่วนประกอบ ผลิตภัณฑ์ยาง อัญมณีและเครื่องประดับ สินแร่โลหะ และเคมีภัณฑ์ ซึ่งสะท้อนถึงความเชื่อมโยงทางการค้าและศักยภาพในการต่อยอดความร่วมมือระหว่างภาคธุรกิจของทั้งสองประเทศ
จากศักยภาพดังกล่าว สภาธุรกิจไทย–แอฟริกาใต้ และสภาอุตสาหกรรมแห่งประเทศไทย จึงมุ่งส่งเสริมและต่อยอดความสัมพันธ์ทางเศรษฐกิจระหว่างไทยและแอฟริกาใต้ ผ่านการสร้างเครือข่ายทางธุรกิจ การขยายโอกาสด้านการค้าและการลงทุน เพื่อเสริมสร้างขีดความสามารถในการแข่งขัน และผลักดันความร่วมมือของภาคธุรกิจไทยและแอฟริกาใต้ให้เติบโตอย่างเป็นรูปธรรมและยั่งยืน
FTI is continuing to strengthen Thai–South African economic relations by connecting business networks and enhancing trade and investment opportunities through the “South African Night,” which serves as an important platform for building familiarity and expanding collaboration between entrepreneurs from both countries.
Recently, on September 24, 2026, Mr. Yanaphol Limpanachokchai, Chairman of the Thai–South African Business Council, and Mr. Songphon Pholsen, representative of the Thai–South African Business Council, represented the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI) at the “South African Night” to promote understanding of products and culture as well as trade and economic potential of the Republic of South Africa. The event also provided a platform for networking and strengthening ties between representatives from the public and private sectors of Thailand and South Africa, with the honor of having H.E. Mr. Darkey Ephraim, South Africa’s Ambassador to Thailand, as the keynote speaker at The Bangkok Club.
Additionally, the event featured local South African cuisine and wine products to reflect the uniqueness and potential of South African goods, further allowing Thai businesses to familiarize themselves and seize the opportunity to learn more about the South African market across various dimensions.
In terms of economy, South Africa is considered a significant trading partner of Thailand in the African region. In 2025, South Africa was Thailand’s top trading partner in Africa and was ranked 28th globally, with total trade valued at approximately 4.072 billion USD. Key products that Thailand imports and exports with South Africa include vehicles and parts, rice, machinery and components, rubber products, gemstones and jewelry, metal ores, and chemicals, reflecting the trade connections and potential for further cooperation between the business sectors of both countries.
Given this potential, the Thai–South African Business Council and the Federation of Thai Industries are committed to promoting and furthering economic relations between Thailand and South Africa through the creation of business networks and the expansion of trade and investment opportunities, enhancing competitive capabilities, and driving tangible and sustainable cooperation between Thai and South African businesses.
