ล่าสุดเมื่อวันที่ 30 กันยายน 2569 นายเวทิต โชควัฒนา รองประธานอาวุโสสภาอุตสาหกรรมแห่งประเทศไทย และประธานสายงานอาเซียนและโลจิสติกส์ สภาอุตสาหกรรมแห่งประเทศไทย (ส.อ.ท.) พร้อมด้วยนายปณิธาน ปวโรฬารวิทยา เลขาธิการ ส.อ.ท. นายกริช อึ้งวิฑูรสถิตย์ รองประธานสายงานอาเซียนและโลจิสติกส์ นายธนวัฒน์ จิตบรรเทิงพันธ์ กรรมการและผู้ช่วยเลขานุการ สายงานอาเซียนและโลจิสติกส์ และนายกฤษฎา ประเสริฐสุโข รองประธานคณะอนุกรรมการส่งเสริมธุรกิจภูมิภาคอาเซียน สายงานอาเซียนและโลจิสติกส์ ในฐานะคณะกรรมการสภาธุรกิจ GMS ประเทศไทย เข้าร่วมการประชุมคณะผู้แทนคณะกรรมการร่วมภาคเอกชน 3 สถาบัน (กกร.) ในกรอบความร่วมมืออนุภูมิภาคลุ่มแม่น้ำโขง (GMS) วาระปี 2567–2569 ครั้งที่ 2/2569 ณ ห้องประชุม PFP Healthy, Tasty (1011) ชั้น 10 ส.อ.ท. และผ่านระบบการประชุมทางไกล
ที่ประชุมฯ มีมติรับรองให้นายเวทิต ดำรงตำแหน่งประธาน GMS ประเทศไทย พร้อมเตรียมการนำคณะผู้แทนภาคเอกชนไทยเข้าร่วมการประชุม GMS Business Forum 2026 และการประชุมระดับรัฐมนตรี (Ministerial Meeting) ครั้งที่ 28 ระหว่างวันที่ 30 พฤศจิกายน–3 ธันวาคม 2569 ณ กรุงฮานอย ประเทศเวียดนาม
ทั้งนี้ ที่ประชุมฯ ยังได้พิจารณาปรับโครงสร้างผู้แทนในสาขาความร่วมมือเชิงยุทธศาสตร์ ทั้งด้านเกษตร พลังงาน สิ่งแวดล้อม สุขภาพ และเทคโนโลยีสารสนเทศและการสื่อสาร (ICT) พร้อมมีมติสำคัญให้ไทยเสนอตัวเป็นผู้แทนในเครือข่าย GMS Agribusiness Network ในนาม กกร. เพื่อรักษาเสถียรภาพห่วงโซ่อุปทานสินค้าเกษตรไทย ตลอดจนผลักดันข้อเสนอแนะในการพัฒนาเขตเศรษฐกิจตามแนวระเบียงเศรษฐกิจ และการเข้าถึงแหล่งทุนเพื่อพัฒนานวัตกรรมร่วมกับธนาคารพัฒนาเอเชีย (ADB)
นอกจากนี้ ส.อ.ท. พร้อมสนับสนุนข้อเสนอการจัดตั้งเครือข่ายนักธุรกิจรุ่นใหม่ (GMS YEN) เพื่อเปิดโอกาสให้คนรุ่นใหม่จากเครือข่าย ส.อ.ท. (Young FTI) และหอการค้าฯ (YEC) เข้ามามีบทบาทสำคัญในการขับเคลื่อนเศรษฐกิจภูมิภาค พร้อมเตรียมขยายขอบเขตความร่วมมือให้ครอบคลุมกรอบอนุภูมิภาคลุ่มแม่น้ำโขง เพื่อเพิ่มขีดความสามารถในการแข่งขันและสร้างความยั่งยืนให้แก่ผู้ประกอบการไทยในเวทีสากล
Most recently, on September 30, 2026, Mr. Vathit Chokwatana, Senior Vice Chairman of the Federation of Thai Industries and Chairman, ASEAN and Logistics, along with Mr. Panitarn Pavarolavidya, Secretary-General of FTI, Mr. Krit Uengwithusathit, Vice Chairman of ASEAN and Logistics, Mr. Thanawat Chitbanthaeungpan, Board Member and Assistant Secretary of ASEAN and Logistics, and Mr. Kritsada Prasertsukho, Vice Chairman of the ASEAN Regional Business Promotion Subcommittee, as part of the Thailand GMS Business Council, attended the second meeting of the three private sector organizations (JFCCT) under the cooperation framework of the Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS) for the year 2026–2029, held at the PFP Healthy, Tasty (1011) meeting room on the 10th floor of FTI and via video conference.
The meeting approved Mr. Vathit to hold the position of President of GMS Thailand and prepared to lead a delegation of the Thai private sector to participate in the GMS Business Forum 2026 and the 28th Ministerial Meeting from November 30 to December 3, 2026, in Hanoi, Vietnam.
Furthermore, the meeting also considered restructuring representatives in strategic cooperation areas including agriculture, energy, environment, health, and information and communication technology (ICT), and made an important resolution for Thailand to propose itself as a representative in the GMS Agribusiness Network on behalf of JFCCT to maintain the stability of the supply chain of Thai agricultural products, as well as to promote recommendations for the development of economic zones along the economic corridor and access to funding for innovation development in collaboration with the Asian Development Bank (ADB).
In addition, FTI is ready to support the proposal to establish a new entrepreneurs network (GMS YEN) to provide opportunities for young people from the FTI network (Young FTI) and the Chamber of Commerce (YEC) to play an important role in driving the regional economy, while preparing to expand the scope of cooperation to cover the Greater Mekong Subregion to enhance the competitive capability and sustainability of Thai entrepreneurs on the international stage.
