วันที่ 23 กรกฎาคม 2569 นางพิมพ์ใจ ลี้อิสสระนุกูล ประธานสภาอุตสาหกรรมแห่งประเทศไทย (ส.อ.ท.) พร้อมด้วยคณะผู้บริหารฯ ให้การต้อนรับ Mr. Daniel Newman, Deputy Counsellor for Economic Affairs, สถานเอกอัครราชทูตสหรัฐอเมริกาประจำประเทศไทย ในโอกาสเข้าพบเพื่อหารือเกี่ยวกับสถานการณ์เศรษฐกิจไทยและความร่วมมือทางเศรษฐกิจระหว่างไทยและสหรัฐอเมริกา ณ ห้องประชุม PFP (1011) ส.อ.ท.
ในการหารือ ทั้งสองฝ่ายได้แลกเปลี่ยนความคิดเห็นเกี่ยวกับพัฒนาการความสัมพันธ์ทางเศรษฐกิจไทย–สหรัฐอเมริกา ภาพรวมสถานการณ์เศรษฐกิจของไทย ตลอดจนพัฒนาการด้านการกำกับดูแลปัญญาประดิษฐ์ (AI) และการบังคับใช้มาตรการทางการค้าของสหรัฐฯ ซึ่งเป็นประเด็นที่ภาคอุตสาหกรรมไทยให้ความสนใจและมีความกังวลต่อผลกระทบที่อาจเกิดขึ้นต่อการค้า การลงทุน และขีดความสามารถในการแข่งขันของผู้ประกอบการไทย
นอกจากนี้ ทั้งสองฝ่ายยังได้หารือถึงการเตรียมความพร้อมของภาคเอกชนไทยในการจัดกิจกรรมคู่ขนานของการประชุมคณะกรรมการบริหารกองทุนการเงินระหว่างประเทศ (IMF) และธนาคารโลก (World Bank) เพื่อใช้เวทีดังกล่าวเป็นโอกาสในการส่งเสริมบทบาทของภาคเอกชนไทย สร้างเครือข่ายความร่วมมือกับนักลงทุนและภาคธุรกิจจากนานาประเทศ รวมถึงผลักดันความร่วมมือทางเศรษฐกิจ การค้า และการลงทุนระหว่างไทยกับสหรัฐอเมริกาให้แน่นแฟ้นยิ่งขึ้น
ในโอกาสนี้ ส.อ.ท. ได้แสดงความยินดีต่อการที่บริษัทสหรัฐอเมริกาหลายแห่งได้ขยายการลงทุนในประเทศไทย ซึ่งสะท้อนถึงความเชื่อมั่นต่อศักยภาพของเศรษฐกิจไทย พร้อมทั้งแสดงความคาดหวังว่าจะมีบริษัทสหรัฐฯ รายอื่นเข้ามาลงทุนในประเทศไทยเพิ่มขึ้นในอนาคต
นอกจากนี้ ส.อ.ท. ยังได้ย้ำว่าสหรัฐอเมริกายังคงเป็นตลาดส่งออกและคู่ค้าทางเศรษฐกิจที่สำคัญของไทย และหวังว่าทั้งสองประเทศจะร่วมกันส่งเสริมความร่วมมือด้านการค้าและการลงทุนให้เติบโตอย่างต่อเนื่องและยั่งยืน
On July 23, 2026, Ms. Pimjai Leeissaranukul, Chairwoman of the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI), along with the executive team, welcomed Mr. Daniel Newman, Deputy Counsellor for Economic Affairs, U.S. Embassy in Thailand, on the occasion of a meeting to discuss the current economic situation in Thailand and economic cooperation between Thailand and the United States at the FTI meeting room PFP (1011).
During the discussion, both parties exchanged views on the development of Thailand-U.S. economic relations, the overall economic situation in Thailand, as well as advancements in the regulation of artificial intelligence (AI) and the enforcement of U.S. trade measures, which are issues of concern for the Thai industrial sector regarding their potential impacts on trade, investment, and the competitiveness of Thai operators.
In addition, both sides discussed the readiness of the Thai private sector to organize parallel activities during the meetings of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank (World Bank) in order to use the event as an opportunity to promote the role of the Thai private sector and establish networks of cooperation with investors and businesses from various countries, as well as to strengthen economic, trade, and investment cooperation between Thailand and the United States.
On this occasion, the FTI expressed its congratulations on the expansion of investments by several U.S. companies in Thailand, reflecting confidence in the potential of the Thai economy, and expressed hope for an increase in investment from other U.S. companies in Thailand in the future.
Furthermore, the FTI reiterated that the United States remains a crucial export market and economic partner for Thailand, and hopes that both countries will continue to promote trade and investment cooperation for sustained and continuous growth.
