วันพุธที่ 30 ตุลาคม 2567 นายเกรียงไกร เธียรนุกุล ประธานสภาอุตสาหกรรมแห่งประเทศไทย (ส.อ.ท.) พร้อมด้วยนายนาวา จันทนสุรคน รองประธาน ส.อ.ท. เข้าร่วมงานมอบรางวัลสุดยอดซีอีโอ “CEO Econmass Awards 2024” โดยได้รับเกียรติจากนางสาวแพทองธาร ชินวัตร นายกรัฐมนตรี เป็นประธาน ณ โรงละครอักษรา คิง เพาเวอร์ กรุงเทพฯ
ภายในงาน มีการประกาศรางวัล “CEO Econmass Awards 2024” ให้แก่ซีอีโอต้นแบบที่นำพาองค์กรฝ่าวิกฤต ขับเคลื่อนเศรษฐกิจไทย มุ่งสู่การเติบโตอย่างยั่งยืน
ทั้งนี้ รางวัล CEO Econmass Awards 2024 แบ่งเป็น 5 ประเภทรางวัล ได้แก่ 1. รางวัลสุดยอดซีอีโอรุ่นใหญ่ 2. รางวัลสุดยอดซีอีโอรุ่นกลาง 3. รางวัลสุดยอดซีอีโอเอสเอ็มอี 4. รางวัลสุดยอดซีอีโอรัฐวิสาหกิจ และ 5. รางวัลซีอีโอขวัญใจสื่อมวลชน รวม 18 รางวัล
นอกจากนี้ ภายในงาน ยังมีการจัดเสวนาหัวข้อ “เศรษฐกิจไทย โอกาส และความท้าทายในปี 2568” โดยนายเกรียงไกรได้ร่วมเสวนากับนายผยง ศรีวณิช ประธานสมาคมธนาคารไทย และนายสนั่น อังอุบลกุล ประธานกรรมการหอการค้าไทย และสภาหอการค้าแห่งประเทศไทย ในฐานะประธานคณะกรรมการร่วม ภาคเอกชน 3 สถาบัน (กกร.)
นายเกรียงไกร ได้นำเสนอถึงภาพรวมเศรษฐกิจไทยในไตรมาสที่ 2 ปี 2567 มีอัตราการขยายตัว 2.3%YoY ซึ่งถึอว่าขยายตัวได้ต่ำ รวมถึงดัชนีผลผลิตอุตสาหกรรม (MPI) หดตัวลง -1.91%YoY ในเดือนสิงหาคม 2567 สะท้อนถึงขีดความสามารถที่ลดลงของภาคการผลิต
ในทางกลับกัน ภาคการท่องเที่ยวยังคงเป็นเครื่องยนต์สำคัญให้กับเศรษฐกิจไทย ด้านตัวเลขการลงทุน FDI ของไทยใน 9 เดือนแรกของปี 2567 เพิ่มขึ้น 42%YoY ดีที่สุดในรอบ 10 ปี โดยความท้าทายของเศรษฐกิจไทย คือ 1) การเข้าสู่สังคมผู้สูงอายุ ซึ่งอุตสาหกรรมไทยต้องปรับตัวในเรื่องความเข้มข้นของแรงงาน และ 2) ประเทศไทยยังติดกับรายได้ปานกลางมายาวนาน และการที่ผู้ประกอบการไทยยังคงติดกับโมเดลธุรกิจรูปแบบเดิม ส่งผลให้ขีดความสามารถในการแข่งขันลดลง
นอกจากนี้ ยังได้นำเสนอการวางแผนเตรียมรับมือของ ส.อ.ท. ที่มุ่งเน้นการปรับตัวของอุตสาหกรรมให้เท่าทันเทคโนโลยีและความต้องการที่เปลี่ยนไปของโลก รวมถึงการพัฒนาองค์กรอย่างยั่งยืน เพื่อปรับไปสู่การใช้พลังงานสะอาดเพิ่มขึ้น และมุ่งสู่การปล่อยก๊าซเรือนกระจกสุทธิเป็นศูนย์ หรือ Net Zero โดยเฉพาะในกลุ่มอุตสาหกรรม S-Curve ซึ่งแนวทางเหล่านี้ จะสามารถช่วยเพิ่มขีดความสามารถในการแข่งขันได้อย่างยั่งยืนต่อไป
ปิดท้ายด้วยการกล่าวปาฐกถาพิเศษของนายพิชัย ชุณหวชิร รองนายกรัฐมนตรี และรัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงการคลัง ในหัวข้อ “Thailand 2025: Opportunities, Challenges and the Future”
งานนี้ จัดโดยสมาคมผู้สื่อข่าวเศรษฐกิจ ร่วมกับคณะกรรมการร่วมภาคเอกชน 3 สถาบัน (กกร.) สำนักงานคณะกรรมการนโยบายรัฐวิสาหกิจ (สคร.) และมหาวิทยาลัยหอการค้าไทย
On Wednesday, October 30, 2024, Mr. Kriangkrai Thiennukul, Chairman of the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI), together with Mr. Nava Chanthanasurakhan, Vice Chairman of FTI, participated in the CEO Econmass Awards 2024 ceremony, graced by the presence of Ms. Paetongtarn Shinawatra, Prime Minister, who presided over the event at Aksra Theatre, King Power, Bangkok.
During the event, the “CEO Econmass Awards 2024” were announced for exemplary CEOs who have led their organizations through crises, driving the Thai economy towards sustainable growth.
Additionally, the CEO Econmass Awards 2024 are divided into five award categories: 1. Outstanding Senior CEO 2. Outstanding Mid-level CEO 3. Outstanding SME CEO 4. Outstanding State Enterprise CEO and 5. Media Favorite CEO, totaling 18 awards.
Moreover, a discussion panel on “Thai Economy: Opportunities and Challenges in 2025” was organized during the event where Mr. Kriangkrai participated alongside Mr. Payong Srivanich, Chairman of the Thai Banking Association, and Mr. Sanan Angubolkul, Chairman of the Thai Chamber of Commerce and the Board of Trade of Thailand, as the Chairman of the Joint Private Sector Committee of three institutions (JPCC).
Mr. Kriangkrai presented an overview of the Thai economy in the second quarter of 2024, which showed a growth rate of 2.3% YoY, considered as low growth, alongside the Industrial Production Index (MPI) contracting by -1.91% YoY in August 2024, reflecting the reduced capacity of the manufacturing sector.
Conversely, the tourism sector remains a key engine for the Thai economy. The foreign direct investment (FDI) figures for Thailand in the first nine months of 2024 increased by 42% YoY, marking the best performance in 10 years. The challenges facing the Thai economy include 1) the transition into an aging society, requiring the Thai industry to adjust concerning labor intensity, and 2) Thailand's prolonged position as a middle-income country, with Thai entrepreneurs remaining tied to traditional business models, resulting in reduced competitiveness.
Furthermore, plans for preparation by FTI have been introduced, focusing on the industry's adaptation to keep pace with changing technologies and global demands, as well as sustainable organizational development to transition toward increased clean energy use and aiming for net-zero greenhouse gas emissions, especially in the S-Curve industrial sector. These strategies will sustainably enhance competitiveness.
The event concluded with a special keynote speech by Mr. Pichai Chunhavajira, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, titled “Thailand 2025: Opportunities, Challenges and the Future.”
This event was organized by the Economic Journalist Association in collaboration with the Joint Private Sector Committee of three institutions (JPCC), the State Enterprise Policy Office (SEPO), and the University of the Thai Chamber of Commerce.
