เมื่อวันอังคารที่ 29 ตุลาคม 2567 ดร.ภก.นิลสุวรรณ ลีลารัศมี รองประธานสภาอุตสาหกรรมแห่งประเทศไทย (ส.อ.ท.) พร้อมด้วยนายรัฐไกร ลิ้มศิริตระกูล กรรมการ ส.อ.ท. และผู้แทนจากสภาหอการค้าแห่งประเทศไทย สมาคมธนาคารไทย ในนามคณะกรรมการร่วมภาคเอกชน 3 สถาบัน (กกร.) ร่วมให้การต้อนรับและหารือกับนายมาทีอัส คอร์มันน์ (H.E. Mr. Mathias Corman) เลขาธิการองค์การเพื่อความร่วมมือทางเศรษฐกิจและการพ้ฒนา (Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development : OECD) และคณะ เนื่องในโอกาสเยือนประเทศไทย เพื่อเริ่มกระบวนการหารือการเข้าเป็นสมาชิก OECD ของไทยอย่างเป็นทางการ ณ โรงแรม The Athenee
ระหว่างการหารือ ภาคเอกชนได้แสดงความพร้อมในการสนับสนุนกระบวนการสมัครเป็นสมาชิก OECD และเชื่อมั่นว่าการเป็นสมาชิก OECD จะสามารถช่วยประเทศไทยในการเพิ่มความยากง่ายในการประกอบธุรกิจ (Ease Of Doing Business) การปฎิรูปกฎหมายและกระบวนการ เพิ่มความโปร่งใส และแก้ไขปัญหาคอร์รัปชัน รวมทั้งการยกระดับมาตรฐานการทำธุรกิจในประเทศไทยให้เป็นสากลมากยิ่งขึ้น
On Tuesday, October 29, 2024, Dr. Phd. Nilsuwan Leelaratsamee, Vice President of the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI), along with Mr. Rattakrai Limserittrakool, a Board Member of FTI, and representatives from the Thai Chamber of Commerce and the Thai Bankers' Association, acting on behalf of the Joint Business Council of the three institutions (JPBC), welcomed and discussed with H.E. Mr. Mathias Corman, Secretary-General of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), and his delegation during their visit to Thailand to officially commence discussions on Thailand's process of joining the OECD at The Athenee Hotel.
During the discussions, the private sector expressed its readiness to support the membership application process for OECD and believes that OECD membership will assist Thailand in improving the ease of doing business, reforming laws and processes, increasing transparency, and addressing corruption issues, as well as enhancing the standards of business practices in Thailand to be more internationally recognized.
