ส.อ.ท. ร่วมงานพิธีเปิด “NOW Thailand – The Golden Era” ฟื้นฟู-เร่งรัดการลงทุนในไทยFTI Participates in the Opening Ceremony of “NOW Thailand – The Golden Era” to Revitalize and Accelerate Investment in Thailand

On Friday, August 16, 2024, Mr. Kriangkrai Thiennukul, Chairman of the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI), together with Mr. Adul Khaolao, Vice Chairman of FTI, and Mr. Weerapol Puangpithayawuthi, Chairman of the Urban Planning and Industrial Estate Committee, participated in the opening ceremony of “NOW Thailand – The Golden Era.” The event was honored by Mr. Wiris Amrapal, Governor of the Industrial Estate Authority of Thailand (IEAT), who articulated the objectives of the event and the potential of IEAT, and Mr. Yuthasak Supasorn, Chairman of the IEAT Board, who chaired the ceremony, outlined the new role of IEAT and its operational direction under the concept of NOW Thailand – The Golden Era at the Chatrium Ballroom 1-2, Siam Kempinski Hotel, Bangkok.

The purpose of this event was to accelerate investment, create awareness and recognition of industrial estates as a reputable brand for investment, and establish them as a global investment destination while enhancing Thailand's competitiveness for sustainability.

Mr. Yuthasak, Chairman of the IEAT Board, declared a commitment to revitalizing and accelerating investment in Thailand, particularly in industrial estates, stating that Thailand is ready to welcome investors from around the world. The campaign “NOW THAILAND : The Golden Era” serves as a signal to global investors that this is a golden opportunity for investment; there is no better time than now to invest in Thailand. The government has policies to enhance the competitive capacity of the country and to accelerate investment in targeted industries with comprehensive investment promotion measures to drive the economy towards sustainability and align with global trends, including world-class infrastructure such as the third phase of the Map Ta Phut Industrial Port development, which can support large industries and act as a gateway for trade in the ASEAN region, as well as transportation infrastructure by land, water, and air, which will enhance business operations and stimulate the country’s economy. 

Meanwhile, Mr. Wiris, the Governor of IEAT, spoke about the significant strides of IEAT into a new era of investment, stating that IEAT has successfully developed industrial estates for over 50 years. Today, we are prepared to aggressively attract investment from around the world and drive the Thai economy towards sustainable growth. With accumulated experience and expertise, IEAT has established a robust network of industrial estates covering 68 locations across 16 provinces, attracting cumulative investments of over 17.04 trillion baht and creating over 953,630 jobs. In addition to organizational adjustments using digital technology toward the development of smart industrial estates (Smart Industrial Estate and Smart Eco Industrial Estate), IEAT has also laid out a proactive strategy to accelerate investment in Thailand within 1-3 years through three main strategies:
1. Global Supply Chain: Linking Thailand to the global supply chain to attract high-potential investments and create growth opportunities for Thai businesses in the global market. 
2. Competitiveness: Enhancing Thailand’s competitive capacity, focusing on investment in targeted industries (S-Curve and New S-Curve), including smart electronics, modern automotive, comprehensive healthcare, digital technology, robotics, processed food, aviation and logistics, and clean energy, to create a “New Engine of Growth” driving the future Thai economy. 
3. Sustainability: Promoting investment that is environmentally friendly, socially responsible, and governed by principles of ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) to achieve a balance between economic development and environmental preservation for sustainable growth.
