เมื่อวันที่ 1-4 สิงหาคม 2567 นายเกรียงไกร เธียรนุกุล ประธานสภาอุตสาหกรรมแห่งประเทศไทย (ส.อ.ท.) พร้อมด้วยนายเวทิต โชควัฒนา รองประธาน ส.อ.ท. ได้เข้าร่วมการประชุมสภาที่ปรึกษาทางธุรกิจเอเปค (APEC Business Advisory Coumcil : ABAC) ครั้งที่ 3/2024 โดยการประชุมได้รับเกียรติจาก H.E. Mr. Fumio Kishida นายกรัฐมนตรีญี่ปุ่นกล่าวเปิด ณ กรุงโตเกียว ประเทศญี่ปุ่น
ทั้งนี้ การประชุม ABAC ครั้งที่ 3 ได้เน้นย้ำถึงความจำเป็นที่ภูมิภาค APEC ต้องจัดการกับอุปสรรคทางการค้า เร่งการเปลี่ยนแปลงทางดิจิทัล และตอบสนองต่อการเปลี่ยนแปลงสภาพภูมิอากาศ โดยข้อเสนอแนะของ ABAC ซึ่งจะนำเสนอในการประชุมสุดยอดผู้นำ APEC ในช่วงเดือนพฤศจิกายนนี้ ณ ประเทศเปรู จะเน้นย้ำถึงความสำคัญของ Free Trade Area of the Asia-Pacific (FTAAP) ข้อตกลง WTO E-commerce Agreement การสร้างมาตรการและเครื่องมือดิจิทัลสำหรับธุรกิจขนาดเล็ก และการตอบสนองร่วมกันต่อการเปลี่ยนแปลงสภาพภูมิอากาศ
นอกจากนี้ ในช่วงการประชุมดังกล่าวยังได้มีการจัด Side Event เพื่อรับฟังวิสัยทัศน์ของ Tokyo Global Financial City และ Japan’s Digital Economy Initiative อีกด้วย
From August 1-4, 2024, Mr. Kriangkrai Thiennukul, Chairman of the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI), along with Mr. Wethit Chokwatana, Vice Chairman of FTI, participated in the 3rd APEC Business Advisory Council (ABAC) meeting, which was honored by H.E. Mr. Fumio Kishida, Prime Minister of Japan, who delivered the opening remarks in Tokyo, Japan.
The 3rd ABAC meeting emphasized the necessity for the APEC region to address trade barriers, accelerate digital transformation, and respond to climate change. The proposals from ABAC, which will be presented at the APEC Leaders' Summit in November this year in Peru, will highlight the importance of the Free Trade Area of the Asia-Pacific (FTAAP), the WTO E-commerce Agreement, the establishment of digital measures and tools for small businesses, and coordinated responses to climate change.
Additionally, during the meeting, a Side Event was organized to discuss the vision of Tokyo Global Financial City and Japan’s Digital Economy Initiative.
