เมื่อวันที่ 23 มิถุนายน 2569 สถาบันน้ำ สิ่งแวดล้อม และ Climate Change (WECCI) สภาอุตสาหกรรมแห่งประเทศไทย (ส.อ.ท.) จัดการประชุมคณะกรรมการสถาบัน ครั้งที่ 1/2569 โดยมี นายปรีดา วัชรเธียรสกุล ประธานสถาบันฯ วาระปี 2569–2571 เป็นประธานการประชุม พร้อมด้วยคณะกรรมการที่ปรึกษา คณะกรรมการ และผู้แทนภาคอุตสาหกรรมเข้าร่วมประชุม เพื่อกำหนดทิศทางการดำเนินงานของสถาบันในวาระปี 2569–2571 ณ ส.อ.ท.
การประชุมครั้งนี้ มุ่งขับเคลื่อนบทบาทของ WECCI ในการเป็นกลไกสนับสนุนภาคอุตสาหกรรมไทยด้านการบริหารจัดการน้ำ สิ่งแวดล้อม และการเปลี่ยนแปลงสภาพภูมิอากาศ ภายใต้แนวนโยบาย 5I ของ ส.อ.ท. เพื่อยกระดับขีดความสามารถในการแข่งขัน ควบคู่กับการพัฒนาอย่างยั่งยืน และการมุ่งสู่เป้าหมายการปล่อยก๊าซเรือนกระจกสุทธิเป็นศูนย์ (Net Zero) ของประเทศ
ภายในงานได้รับเกียรติจาก ดร.กิตติศักดิ์ พฤกษ์กานนท์ ผู้อำนวยการกองยุทธศาสตร์และความร่วมมือระหว่างประเทศ กรมการเปลี่ยนแปลงสภาพภูมิอากาศและสิ่งแวดล้อม บรรยายพิเศษในหัวข้อ “ร่างพระราชบัญญัติการเปลี่ยนแปลงสภาพภูมิอากาศ พ.ศ. ....” พร้อมแลกเปลี่ยนมุมมองเกี่ยวกับการเตรียมความพร้อมของภาคอุตสาหกรรมต่อกติกาใหม่ด้านการเปลี่ยนแปลงสภาพภูมิอากาศและเศรษฐกิจคาร์บอนต่ำ
นอกจากนี้ ที่ประชุมยังได้หารือแนวทางการขับเคลื่อนงานผ่านคณะอนุกรรมการหลักทั้ง 6 คณะ ซึ่งครอบคลุมประเด็นสำคัญ ได้แก่ ความมั่นคงด้านน้ำ (Water Security) เศรษฐกิจหมุนเวียน (Circular Economy) อุตสาหกรรมสีเขียว (Green Industry) สิ่งแวดล้อม สังคม และธรรมาภิบาล (ESG) และการเปลี่ยนแปลงภูมิอากาศ (Climate Change) เพื่อร่วมกันขับเคลื่อนภาคอุตสาหกรรมไทยสู่การเติบโตอย่างยั่งยืน
On June 23, 2026, the Water, Environment, and Climate Change Institute (WECCI) of the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI) held its 1st committee meeting for 2026, presided over by Mr. Preeda Watcharathiansakul, Chairman of the Institute for the term 2026–2028, along with advisory board members, committee members, and representatives from the industrial sector attending to set the strategic direction for the operations of the Institute in the term 2026–2028 at FTI.
This meeting aimed to drive the role of WECCI as a supporting mechanism for the Thai industrial sector in terms of water management, environmental protection, and climate change, under the 5I policy of FTI, to enhance competitiveness alongside sustainable development and the goal of achieving net-zero greenhouse gas emissions for the country.
The event featured a special lecture by Dr. Kittisak Prueksakanon, Director of the International Strategy and Cooperation Division, Department of Climate Change and Environment, on the topic “Draft Climate Change Act of ....” While exchanging views on the readiness of the industrial sector in response to new regulations regarding climate change and low-carbon economy.
Additionally, the meeting discussed ways to drive initiatives through six main subcommittees, covering key issues including Water Security, Circular Economy, Green Industry, Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG), and Climate Change, to collectively advance the Thai industrial sector towards sustainable growth.
