เมื่อวันที่ 10 มิถุนายน 2567 นายอสิ ตัณสถิตย์ รองประธานสภาอุตสาหกรรมแห่งประเทศไทย (ส.อ.ท.) และประธานสภาธุรกิจไทย-อียิปต์ กล่าวต้อนรับในงานสัมมนา “NEW MODERN EGYPT: TIPS IN DOING BUSINESS” โดยได้รับเกียรติจากนางสาวศศิริทธิ์ ตันกุลรัตน์ อธิบดีกรมเอเชียใต้ตะวันออกกลางและแอฟริกา กระทรวงการต่างประเทศ ร่วมกล่าวเปิดงาน พร้อมด้วย H.E. Mrs. Hala Youssef Ahmed Ragab เอกอัครราชทูตสาธารณรัฐอาหรับอียิปต์ประจำประเทศไทย นายชาติชาย พานิชชีวะ รองประธาน ส.อ.ท. และคณะกรรมการบริหาร ส.อ.ท. เข้าร่วม ณ ห้องประชุม Passion Room 802 ชั้น 8 ส.อ.ท.
ภายในงานสัมมนาแบ่งออกเป็น 2 ช่วง โดยในช่วงแรก เน้นการให้ข้อมูลแก่ภาคเอกชนไทยที่มีความต้องการขยายตลาดการค้าและการลงทุนไปยังอียิปต์ โดยหน่วยงานภาคเอกชนอียิปต์ นำโดย Mr. Mohamed Youssef, Executive Director, Egyptian Businessmen’s Association และ Mr. Mahmoud Hatem, Vice President Middle East & Africa, Moharram & Partners เข้าร่วมให้ข้อมูลเกี่ยวกับสถานการณ์และสภาพเศรษฐกิจอียิปต์ปัจจุบัน ข้อมูลการประกอบธุรกิจสำหรับนักลงทุนต่างชาติและกฎระเบียบต่างๆ รวมถึงโอกาสของสินค้าไทยในตลาดอียิปต์
สำหรับในช่วงที่ 2 เป็นการแบ่งปันประสบการณ์ด้านการลงทุนของนักธุรกิจไทยในอียิปต์ โดยนายวสันต์ วิตนากร จากบจก. ไฮ-เทค แอพพาเรล จำกัด และนางพันธ์พิไล ใบหยก จากบจก. BYK Intertrade จำกัด โดยภายในงานมีผู้สนใจเข้าร่วมงานกว่า 50 ราย
ในปีนี้เป็นปีครบรอบ 70 ปีความสัมพันธ์ทางการทูตไทย-อิยิปต์ ซึ่งอียิปต์เป็นประเทศพันธมิตรทางเศรษฐกิจที่สำคัญของไทยในภูมิภาคแอฟริกาตอนเหนือ มีประชากรมากกว่า 110 ล้านคน มีโครงสร้างพื้นฐานและกฎระเบียบที่เอื้อต่อการลงทุน อาทิ เขตปลอดอากรสำหรับการผลิตและการส่งออก และเป็นประตูการค้าสู่ภูมิภาคแอฟริกาและยุโรป สำหรับนักธุรกิจไทยสามารถขยายตลาดการค้าไปยังภูมิภาคนี้ได้ โดยเฉพาะการใช้สิทธิประโยชน์ทางการค้าจากความตกลงหุ้นส่วนทางเศรษฐกิจระดับภูมิภาค (Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership – RCEP) ซึ่งจะช่วยเพิ่มศักยภาพและขีดความสามารถทางการแข่งขันของสินค้าของไทยในต่างประเทศได้อีกด้วย
On June 10, 2024, Mr. Aseet Tansathit, Vice Chairman of the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI) and Chairman of the Thai-Egyptian Business Council, welcomed participants at the seminar “NEW MODERN EGYPT: TIPS IN DOING BUSINESS”, which was honored by the presence of Ms. Sassirith Tankulrat, Director-General of the Department of South Asia, the Middle East, and Africa, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, who officially opened the event. Also present were H.E. Mrs. Hala Youssef Ahmed Ragab, Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to Thailand, Mr. Chatchai Panichchiva, Vice Chairman of FTI, and FTI Board members, at the Passion Room 802, 8th floor of FTI.
The seminar was divided into two segments. The first segment focused on providing information to Thai private sectors seeking to expand trade and investment in Egypt. Egyptian private sector representatives, led by Mr. Mohamed Youssef, Executive Director of the Egyptian Businessmen’s Association, and Mr. Mahmoud Hatem, Vice President for the Middle East & Africa, Moharram & Partners, shared insights on the current economic situation in Egypt, business operation information for foreign investors, applicable regulations, and opportunities for Thai products in the Egyptian market.
The second segment involved sharing investment experiences of Thai entrepreneurs in Egypt, featuring Mr. Wasan Witnakhorn from Hi-Tech Apparel Co., Ltd., and Ms. Panpilai Baiyok from BYK Intertrade Co., Ltd. The event attracted over 50 interested participants.
This year marks the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Thailand and Egypt. Egypt is a significant economic ally of Thailand in the North African region, with a population of over 110 million and infrastructure and regulations conducive to investment such as duty-free zones for manufacturing and export. It serves as a trading gateway to both Africa and Europe, allowing Thai entrepreneurs to expand their trade markets into this region. Particularly, leveraging trade advantages from the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) can enhance the potential and competitiveness of Thai products in international markets.
