เมื่อวันพุธที่ 5 มิถุนายน 2567 ดร.ชนะ ภูมี รองประธานสภาอุตสาหกรรมแห่งประเทศไทย (ส.อ.ท.) และประธานสถาบันน้ำและสิ่งแวดล้อมเพื่อความยั่งยืน เข้าร่วมงานวันสิ่งแวดล้อมโลก 2567 จัดโดย กรมการเปลี่ยนแปลงสภาพภูมิอากาศและสิ่งแวดล้อม โดยมี พล.ต.อ.พัชรวาท วงษ์สุวรรณ รองนายกรัฐมนตรี และรัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงทรัพยากรธรรมชาติและสิ่งแวดล้อม ให้เกียรติเป็นประธานในพิธี พร้อมทั้งยังได้รับเกียรติจาก Ms. Marlene Nilsson รองผู้อำนวยการและรักษาการโครงการสิ่งแวดล้อมแห่งสหประชาชาติ ประจำภาคพื้นเอเชียแปซิฟิค กล่าวสุนทรพจน์ ณ โรงแรมเซ็นทารา ไลฟ์ ศูนย์ราชการ และคอนเวนชันเซ็นเตอร์ แจ้งวัฒนะ กรุงเทพฯ
สำหรับการจัดงานในปีนี้ มีแนวคิดหลักในการรณรงค์ คือ LAND RESTORATION, DESERTIFICATION & DROUGHT RESILIENCE ซึ่งมุ่งเน้นในเรื่องการฟื้นฟูดิน การแปรสภาพของทะเลทรายให้กลับมาสมบูรณ์ และการฟื้นตัวจากภัยแล้ง ภายใต้คำขวัญ “Our land. Our future. We are #GenerationRestoration.” “พลิกฟื้นผืนดิน สู้วิกฤตภัยแล้ง” ซึ่งนับเป็นโอกาสสำคัญที่ประเทศไทย จะได้แสดงพลังและใช้ศักยภาพที่มี ร่วมมือกันฟื้นฟูและปกป้องผืนดิน เพื่อรักษาสมดุลของระบบนิเวศ ซึ่งเป็นรากฐานในการพัฒนาประเทศ ที่จะนำไปสู่คุณภาพชีวิตที่ดีต่อไป
On Wednesday, June 5, 2024, Dr. Chana Poomi, Vice President of the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI) and Chairman of the Water and Sustainable Environment Institute, participated in World Environment Day 2024 organized by the Department of Climate Change and Environmental Affairs. He was honored to have Pol. Gen. Patcharawat Wongsuwan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Natural Resources and Environment, preside over the ceremony, along with the presence of Ms. Marlene Nilsson, Deputy Director and Acting Project Director of the United Nations Environment Programme for the Asia-Pacific region, who delivered a speech at the Centara Grand at CentralWorld in Chaengwattana, Bangkok.
This year's event features a central campaign theme of LAND RESTORATION, DESERTIFICATION & DROUGHT RESILIENCE, focusing on soil restoration, desertification recovery, and resilience against drought. The slogan is 'Our land. Our future. We are #GenerationRestoration.' 'United to restore the land and fight the drought crisis,' which represents an important opportunity for Thailand to demonstrate its strength and utilize its potential to collaboratively restore and protect the land in order to maintain the balance of ecosystems, which is the foundation for the country's development and will lead to a better quality of life in the future.
