on June 18, 2026, at 15:00, Ms. Pimjai Leeissaranukul, President of the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI) and in her capacity as Chairperson of the Creative Economy Agency (CEA), along with Ms. Imhathai Kanjina, Director of CEA Northern Office, Mr. Sanith Kasuwat, Vice President of the Federation of Thai Industries, Mr. Nattakorn Sojindamanee, Deputy Secretary-General of the Federation of Thai Industries, and Mr. Sakgasem Tantiwong, President of the Chamber of Commerce in Sukhothai Province, had the opportunity to discuss with Mr. Ruangkiat Watanakulchai, Deputy Mayor of Phitsanulok Municipality, and the strategic and budget working group to exchange ideas on driving the creative economy, city development, and enhancing the potential of entrepreneurs in Phitsanulok Province at the meeting room of Topland Hotel & Convention Center.
This discussion is another important step in linking “cultural heritage” with “creativity, technology, and innovation” to create new economic opportunities in the region while promoting the creative economy as a new force in the Thai industrial sector, which aligns with the FTI's 5I strategy, particularly I2: Innovation & Creative Industry, aimed at elevating the Thai industry from merely being a production base (OEM) to creating new value (Value Creation) through innovation, design, branding, and intellectual property to enhance the competitiveness of Thai entrepreneurs on the global stage.
One of the important mechanisms is the Design Creative Center (TCDC) in Phitsanulok, which after the Phitsanulok Municipality held an official building handover ceremony on May 30, is currently in the final stages of preparation before being fully opened to the public.
The opening of the TCDC Phitsanulok, operated by Phitsanulok Municipality, has the central and northern TCDC teams as mentors to create awareness, connect the private sector, and find local creators through the City LAB concept, which will be a trial space for developing ideas and nurturing creative thought into reality.
Furthermore, linking “creators” with “entrepreneurs and the industrial sector” will create a new ecosystem that brings creative ideas into the industry, whether in processed agricultural products, food, fashion, lifestyle, tourism, or industries of the future.
Phitsanulok is a province rich in cultural assets, history, wisdom, and outstanding human potential. If creativity, technology, and innovation can be integrated, it can progress toward becoming a creative city and serve as a model for the development of the Creative Industry that drives the economy and industry of Thailand toward sustainable growth in the future.
