วันอังคารที่ 28 พฤษภาคม 2567 ม.ล.ปีกทอง ทองใหญ่ และนายวิวรรธน์ เหมมณฑารพ รองประธานสภาอุตสาหกรรมแห่งประเทศไทย (ส.อ.ท.) นายชนิตร ชาญชัยณรงค์ รองประธานสถาบันวิสาหกิจขนาดกลางและขนาดย่อมอุตสาหกรรมการผลิต และนายจิรบูลย์ วิทยสิงห์ กรรมการบริหาร ส.อ.ท. ให้การต้อนรับ Mr. Calvin Ho Senior Vice President, Portfolio Manager, Head of Research และคณะผู้บริหารจากหน่วยงาน Franklin Templeton เพื่อหารือมุมมองทางเศรษฐกิจสำหรับการลงทุนในประเทศไทย ณ ห้อง Passion 802 ส.อ.ท.
ม.ล.ปีกทอง ได้นำเสนอ 8 จุดแข็งของประเทศไทยที่จะเป็นเป้าหมายของการลงทุน ได้แก่ 1. การเติบโตทางเศรษฐกิจ รวมถึงอัตราแลกเปลี่ยนที่คงที่ 2. โครงสร้างพื้นฐานด้านโลจิสติกส์ และดิจิทัลที่พัฒนา 3. แรงงานมีทักษะ รวมถึงต้นทุนแรงงานที่แข่งขันได้ 4. นโยบายและการให้สนับสนุนของภาครัฐ เช่น การให้ส่งเสริมการลงทุนของสำนักงานคณะกรรมการส่งเสริมการลงทุน (BOI) 5. กลยุทธ์เชิงตำแหน่งที่ตั้งทางภูมิศาสตร์ เป็นศูนย์กลางของภูมิภาคเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้ 6. สภาพแวดล้อมที่เอื้อต่อการดำเนินธุรกิจให้มี Ease of Doing Business 7. จุดแข็งของแต่ละภาคส่วน เช่น ภาคการท่องเที่ยว เป็นจุดแข็งของประเทศไทย 8. คุณภาพชีวิตและความเป็นอยู่ของประชากรที่ดี
นอกจากนี้ 8 แนวทางยกระดับอุตสาหกรรมไทย ได้แก่ 1. การปรับปรุงกฎหมาย กฎระเบียบ เพื่อส่งเสริม Ease of Doing Business 2. การพัฒนาบุคลากร เพิ่มผลิตภาพแรงงาน และแก้ไขปัญหาขาดแคลนแรงงานทั้งระบบ 3. การบริหารจัดการด้านพลังงานทั้งระบบ รองรับการเปลี่ยนผ่านพลังงาน (Energy Transition) 4. การส่งเสริมการส่งออก การค้า และสนับสนุนการลงทุนในอุตสาหกรรมเป้าหมาย S-Curve 5. การยกระดับอุตสาหกรรมด้วยเทคโนโลยี นวัตกรรม และดิจิทัล 6. การพัฒนาอุตสาหกรรมอย่างยั่งยืน (BCG&ESG) การบริหารจัดการทรัพยากรน้ำ และการมุ่งสู่เป้าหมายการปล่อยก๊าซเรือนกระจกสุทธิเป็นศูนย์ หรือ Net Zero 7. การส่งเสริมและพัฒนาศักยภาพของผู้ประกอบการ SMEs และ 8. การพัฒนาโครงสร้างพื้นฐานด้านโลจิสติกส์ และพื้นที่สำหรับอุตสาหกรรม เพื่อเพิ่มขีดความสามารถในการแข่งขัน ขับเคลื่อนเศรษฐกิจ และมุ่งสู่การพัฒนาอย่างยั่งยืนของประเทศไทย
On Tuesday, May 28, 2024, M.L. Piktong Tongyai and Mr. Wiwat Hemmanta, Vice Chairman of the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI), Mr. Chanit Chanchaianrong, Vice Chairman of the Office of Small and Medium Enterprises Promotion for the Manufacturing Industry, and Mr. Chiraboon Wittyasing, FTI Executive Board Member, welcomed Mr. Calvin Ho, Senior Vice President, Portfolio Manager, Head of Research, and the management team from Franklin Templeton to discuss the economic outlook for investment in Thailand at FTI's Passion 802 Room.
M.L. Piktong presented eight strengths of Thailand as investment targets, including 1. Economic growth along with a stable exchange rate 2. Developed logistics and digital infrastructure 3. Skilled labor along with competitive labor costs 4. Government policies and support, such as investment promotion by the Board of Investment (BOI) 5. Geographic positioning strategy as the hub of Southeast Asia 6. A conducive business environment for Ease of Doing Business 7. Strengths of each sector, such as tourism as a strength for Thailand, and 8. Good quality of life and living standards of the population.
In addition, eight approaches to elevate the Thai industry include 1. Improving laws and regulations to promote Ease of Doing Business 2. Developing personnel to enhance labor productivity and addressing labor shortages across the system 3. Comprehensive energy management to support the energy transition 4. Promoting exports, trade, and supporting investment in target S-Curve industries 5. Upgrading industries with technology, innovation, and digitalization 6. Developing sustainable industries (BCG & ESG), managing water resources, and aiming for net-zero greenhouse gas emissions 7. Promoting and developing the capabilities of SMEs, and 8. Developing logistics infrastructure and industrial zones to enhance competitiveness, drive the economy, and aim for sustainable development in Thailand.
