เมื่อวันที่ 9 พฤษภาคม 2567 นายเกรียงไกร เธียรนุกุล ประธานคณะกรรมการร่วมภาคเอกชน 3 สถาบัน (กกร.) และประธานสภาอุตสาหกรรมแห่งประเทศไทย (ส.อ.ท.) กำหนดจัดประชุมร่วม THAI – SAUDI BUSINESS COUNCIL ขึ้น โดยได้รับเกียรติจาก ดร. มาญิด บิน อับดุลเลาะฮ์ อัลกอเศาะบี (H.E. Majed Bin Abdullah Alkassabi) รัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงพาณิชย์ซาอุดีอาระเบีย และนายสุชาติ ชมกลิ่น รัฐมนตรีช่วยว่าการกระทรวงพาณิชย์ พร้อมด้วย Dr. Sami Al Abedi ประธานสภาธุรกิจซาอุดีอาระเบีย – ไทย ผู้บริหารหน่วยงานภาครัฐและคณะกรรมการสภาธุรกิจไทย-ซาอุดีอาระเบีย เข้าร่วมประชุมหารือ ณ โรงแรม ดิ แอทธินี ถนนวิทยุ
ในการประชุม THAI – SAUDI BUSINESS COUNCIL ได้มีการกล่าวถึงบทบาทความร่วมมือระหว่าง 2 ฝ่าย โดยที่ภาคเอกชนทั้งสองฝ่ายมีความมุ่งมั่นที่จะผลักดันการขยายความร่วมมือด้านการค้า การลงทุน และการท่องเที่ยวร่วมกันเพื่อให้สอดคล้องกับ Saudi Vision 2030
นอกจากนี้ คณะผู้บริหารยังได้เข้าชมกิจกรรม Thai – Saudi Business Matching จัดโดยกระทรวงพาณิชย์ ซึ่งเป็นกิจกรรมจับคู่เจรจาทางธุรกิจระหว่างผู้ผลิตและส่งออกไทย 211 ราย กับผู้นำเข้าของซาอุดีอาระเบีย 17 ราย โดยสินค้าที่ได้รับความสนใจจากผู้นำเข้าซาอุดีอาระเบียหลักๆ คือ กลุ่มอาหาร (ผลไม้ เมล็ดกาแฟ) กลุ่มวัสดุก่อสร้า ง(อะลูมิเนียม เลเซอร์ตัดเหล็ก ) กลุ่มเฮลท์แอนด์บิวตี้ (เครื่องหอมต่างๆ) เป็นต้น
On May 9, 2024, Mr. Kriangkrai Theeranukul, Chairman of the Joint Private Sector Committee of three organizations (JPSE) and Chairman of the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI), organized a joint meeting of the THAI – SAUDI BUSINESS COUNCIL, honoring Dr. Majed Bin Abdullah Alkassabi, the Minister of Commerce of Saudi Arabia, and Mr. Suchart Chomklin, the Deputy Minister of Commerce, along with Dr. Sami Al Abedi, Chairman of the Saudi – Thai Business Council, representatives from government agencies, and members of the Thai-Saudi Business Council, who attended the discussion at The Athenee Hotel, Wireless Road.
During the THAI – SAUDI BUSINESS COUNCIL meeting, cooperation between the two parties was discussed, focusing on the commitment of both private sectors to expand collaboration in trade, investment, and tourism in alignment with Saudi Vision 2030.
Additionally, the executives attended the Thai – Saudi Business Matching event organized by the Ministry of Commerce, which facilitated business matching discussions between 211 Thai producers and exporters and 17 Saudi importers. The key products that attracted interest from Saudi importers included food items (fruits, coffee beans), construction materials (aluminum, laser-cut steel), and health and beauty products (various fragrances), among others.
