On Wednesday, February 21, 2024, Mr. Thaworn Chollatheeran, Vice President of the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI) and Chairman of the Human Resource Development Institute, was honored to participate as a speaker in the seminar titled “The Role of Higher Education Institutions in Developing Thailand’s Special Economic Zones” to promote the stable, sustainable, and tangible development of special economic zones. The topic discussed was “Industry Perspectives: Developing Special Economic Zones,” with Air Chief Marshal Prajin Juntong, Chairman of the Committee on Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, honored as the event's chairperson, held at Asawin Grand Convention Hotel, Bangkok.
Mr. Thaworn presented FTI's policy to accelerate the enhancement of competitive capabilities in both traditional and new industries, which comprises three areas: 1. S-Curve 2. BCG 3. Climate Change. He also discussed the advent of AI, Virtual Reality, and Machine Learning, which are increasingly replacing human labor, necessitating a change in the roles of workers in the Digital Age. This transition in Learning and Development (L&D) during the Digital Age includes three aspects: 1. Learning in the Workflow 2. Learning Ecosystem 3. Learning Contract. Therefore, preparing individuals for readiness requires an adjustment in learning to foster new skills, as traditional learning methods may no longer suffice.
