On Friday, January 26, 2024, the Eastern Federation of Industries, led by Dr. Saroj Vasuwanich, Chairman of the Eastern Federation of Industries, and Mr. Jeerathat Jamphaiboon, Chairman of the Chachoengsao Provincial Industry Council, led a delegation from the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI), which included Mr. Kriangkrai Thiennukul, Chairman of FTI, Mr. Thavee Piyapathana, Senior Vice Chairman of FTI, Dr. Arapeen Sermprapasiri, Vice Chairman of FTI, along with the committee, to visit Soron Biotechnology (Thailand) Co., Ltd. Mr. Weerapong Kittiratwivat, a company director, welcomed the delegation, presented a corporate introduction video, and guided them through the innovations in the production process of golden needle mushrooms utilizing advanced technology and packaging processes at Soron Biotechnology (Thailand) Co., Ltd., located in Bang Nam Priao District, Chachoengsao Province.
Soron Biotechnology (Thailand) Co., Ltd. is a comprehensive cold mushroom production facility covering over 60 rai, with a production capacity exceeding 70 tons per day for both domestic and international distribution. The facility has received GAP, GMP, and HALAL certifications. Additionally, the building integrates a solar power generation system, producing over 4 million units of electricity annually, thereby reducing carbon dioxide emissions by over 3,200,000 kilograms, equivalent to planting over 183,000 trees.
The mushroom production process begins with selecting the strains and cultivating the spores in a closed-system greenhouse. Staff members undergo sterilization before commencing work to ensure the highest safety standards. Furthermore, rice husks and corn stalks, which have been rigorously quality-checked, are used as raw materials for cultivating golden needle mushrooms, with the spores being transferred into bottles by modern machinery. Quality is checked against standards before steaming in high-pressure autoclaves and cooling in temperature-controlled rooms to achieve the most complete mushroom nutrient cakes.
Next, the golden needle mushroom spores are filled into bottles using modern machinery equipped with a sterile management system and transported in a closed tunnel system to a dark room where they are incubated at approximately 25 degrees Celsius for 25 days until they reach the quality standards as outlined by Soron's production criteria.
Afterward, the mushroom cakes undergo spore scraping using a spore scraping machine and are conveyed via conveyor belts to the cold mushroom cultivation rooms, totaling 160 rooms, where they are nurtured for an additional 25 days in rooms with controlled light and temperature conditions suited for the growth of golden needle mushrooms. This employs PLC technology featuring data processing, storage for analysis, and traceability, representing the most advanced modern cold mushroom production innovation currently available.
