วันพฤหัสบดีที่ 25 มกราคม 2567 นายเกรียงไกร เธียรนุกุล ประธานสภาอุตสาหกรรมแห่งประเทศไทย (ส.อ.ท.) ได้รับเกียรติเข้าร่วมเสวนาในงาน The Better Future Forward 2024 ร่วมกับนายสนั่น อังอุบลกุล ประธานสภาหอการค้าแห่งประเทศไทย ในหัวข้อเรื่องความท้าทายใหม่ของภาคธุรกิจไทยปี 2024 จัดโดยสำนักข่าว The Better ณ SCB Next Tech ชั้น 4 ศูนย์การค้าสยามพารากอน
นายเกรียงไกร ได้นำเสนอภาพรวมและแนวโน้มภาคอุตสาหกรรมการผลิตของไทย ท่ามกลางความท้าทายของเศรษฐกิจโลกในปัจจุบัน โดยภาคอุตสาหกรรมไทยกำลังเผชิญกับความท้าทายทั้งการเปลี่ยนแปลงทางดิจิทัล เศรษฐกิจโลกเสี่ยงเข้าสู่ภาวะถดถอย ปัญหาภาวะเงินเฟ้อ ราคาพลังงานที่ยังอยู่ในระดับสูง อัตราดอกเบี้ยขาขึ้น รวมถึงปัญหาการเปลี่ยนแปลงสภาพภูมิอากาศ และความขัดแย้งทางภูมิรัฐศาสตร์
นอกจากนี้ ยังได้เสนอแนะให้ภาครัฐดำเนินการในประเด็นต่างๆ ดังนี้ 1) จัดทำนโยบายการต่างประเทศที่ดึงดูดการลงทุนและนักท่องเที่ยวจากต่างชาติ 2) ทบทวนกฏหมายที่ล้าสมัย เพื่อส่งเสริมความยากง่ายในการประกอบธุรกิจ (Ease of Doing Business) 3) ส่งเสริมการลงทุนในอุตสาหกรรมด้านเศรษฐกิจชีวภาพ เศรษฐกิจหมุนเวียน และเศรษฐกิจสีเขียว (Bio, Circular, Green Economy – BCG) เพื่อสนับสนุนให้ภาคอุตสาหกรรมเติบโตอย่างยั่งยืน 4) ส่งเสริมการปรับเปลี่ยนโครงสร้างการประกอบธุรกิจ โดยให้ผู้ประกอบการไทยลงทุนในอุตสาหกรรมมูลค่าสูง และสร้างมูลค่าเพิ่มให้กับผลผลิต 5) ปฏิรูปการศึกษา โดยพัฒนาเพื่อยกระดับทักษะที่มีให้ดีกว่าเดิม (Upskill) และ สร้างทักษะขึ้นมาใหม่ที่จำเป็นต่อการทำงาน (Reskill) เพื่อรับมือกับปัญหาวิกฤตประชากรไทย 6) สนับสนุนให้เกิดการนำดิจิทัล มาประยุกต์ใช้ในกระบวนการผลิตภาคอุตสาหกรรม และ 7) ผลักดัน Soft Power ประเทศไทยให้มีชื่อเสียงในระดับนานาชาติ
On Thursday, January 25, 2024, Mr. Kriengkrai Thiennukul, Chairman of the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI), had the honor of participating in a discussion at The Better Future Forward 2024 event alongside Mr. Sanan Angubolkul, Chairman of the Thai Chamber of Commerce, on the topic of new challenges for Thai businesses in 2024. This event was organized by The Better News Agency at SCB Next Tech, 4th floor, Siam Paragon Shopping Center.
Mr. Kriengkrai presented an overview and trends of Thailand's manufacturing sector amidst the challenges posed by the current global economy. The Thai industrial sector is currently facing challenges such as digital transformation, the risk of global recession, inflation, persistently high energy prices, rising interest rates, as well as issues related to climate change and geopolitical conflicts.
Additionally, he suggested that the government take action on various issues as follows: 1) Create foreign policies that attract investment and international tourists, 2) Review outdated laws to promote ease of doing business, 3) Promote investment in bioeconomy, circular economy, and green economy (Bio, Circular, Green Economy – BCG) to support sustainable industrial growth, 4) Encourage structural change in business operations by directing Thai entrepreneurs to invest in high-value industries and create added value for products, 5) Reform education by improving existing skills (Upskill) and developing new necessary skills for employment (Reskill) to address the Thai demographic crisis, 6) Support the implementation of digital technologies in industrial production processes, and 7) Promote Thailand's soft power to enhance its international reputation.
