FTI emphasizes that Health–Wellness–Longevity is not just a health trend but a new economic opportunity. It aims to connect research, technology, and the industrial sector to drive biotech innovation into added-value products and services, alongside 12 partners to propel the Thailand Biotech Alliance.

On September 3, 2026, Mrs. Ketsamanee Lertkitja, Vice Chairperson of the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI), presided over the opening of the Commercialize Biotech Longevity: Showcase & Award held at Hall 3 of the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center during Vitafoods Asia 2026. Dr. Nattaphasuth Patthirasinsiri, Chairman of the Biotechnology Industry Group, and Dr. Yodchai Tangjaidee Burisuth, Event Chairman, were present to welcome the attendees.

[Transforming “Research” into “Business”]
Mrs. Ketsamanee stated that a crucial challenge for the Thai biotech industry is to enable knowledge and research to transition from laboratories to actual products and services that have practical utility. This requires connections between the research sector, industry, and partners throughout the value chain, from technology development to product commercialization and market entry.

Especially in the Health, Wellness, and Longevity markets, which are creating new opportunities for Thai businesses, utilizing biotechnology to develop solutions for health and quality longevity can lead to increased value creation and drive the country's Bio-Economy.

This approach aligns with FTI's 5I strategy, aimed at enhancing the competitiveness of Thai industries by leveraging technology, innovation, and collaborative networks as key mechanisms for creating new opportunities.

[Uniting 12 Allies to Advance the Thailand Biotech Alliance]
The event featured presentations of research and innovations in biotechnology, along with exchanges of success cases from the industry to reflect concrete pathways for commercializing research.

Dr. Nattaphasuth Patthirasinsiri, Chairman of the Biotechnology Industry Group, stated that today's event is organized to drive the ecosystem and innovation of Thai research toward tangible commercialization. Participants will encounter significant activities, such as presentations of research and innovations in biotechnology from leading agencies, discussion panels sharing success case experiences from the industry, as well as the prestigious FTI Biotech Alliance Award ceremony to honor Key Alliance Partners who have contributed to the Thai biotechnology industry.

A highlight of the event was the declaration of the Thailand Biotech Alliance's intentions to consolidate strategic collaborations from 12 partner organizations, with PhD. Supattra Boonsri, Secretary-General of the Food and Drug Administration, honored as a witness. The FTI Biotech Alliance Award, comprising 12 awards, was presented to commend partners who have played significant roles in supporting and advancing Thailand's biotechnology industry.

FTI aims to serve as a bridge connecting research with the business sector, ensuring that innovations do not remain solely as research outcomes but can be developed into products, services, and new businesses that create added value for the country and lay the groundwork for the Thai biotechnology industry to grow and compete regionally.
