ส.อ.ท. จัดสัมมนา Biotech FTI Forum ครั้งที่ 7 ดัน “Bio Longevity Economy” สู่ New S-Curve ใหม่FTI Organizes the 7th Biotech FTI Forum to Propel the “Bio Longevity Economy” into a New S-Curve

FTI plays a significant role in connecting and promoting Thailand's biotechnology industry by aiming to elevate the Bio Longevity Economy as a New S-Curve through the encouragement of innovation, value addition, and the development of intellectual property. It seeks to link knowledge from research and advanced technology to practical applications in the industry. On September 2, 2026, Ms. Pimjai Leeissaranukul, Chairperson of the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI), honored the event as the keynote speaker to open the 7th Biotech FTI Forum under the theme Biotech Frontiers: Innovation for Longevity & Sustainability. Dr. NatthaPasut Patthirasinsiri, Chairperson of the Biotechnology Industry Group, welcomed the attendees, along with Mr. Suwan Phongsang, Organizing Chairman of the 7th Biotech FTI Forum, who reported the objectives of the event at the Bitec Exhibition and Convention Center, Bangna.

The event was organized by the Biotechnology Industry Group in collaboration with the Biotechnology Association of Thailand and the National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA). It aims to drive biological innovation to support a sustainable aging society, receiving interest from industry representatives, members of the group, educational institutions, and interested parties, with over 150 attendees.

Ms. Phimphai discussed the approach to promoting the Bio Longevity Economy, stating that the FTI is committed to enhancing the biotechnology industry as the New S-Curve of Thai business by implementing policies that promote high-value industries aligned with the new economic direction towards innovation and sustainability. This aims to increase economic value, restructure the production sector, and support sustainable growth of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP).

Additionally, FTI is pushing the biotechnology and medical industries to become a new growth engine for the economy, responding to the full-scale entry into an aging society and the rising trend of health care popularity among consumers globally. This has resulted in a significant growth in the dietary supplement and health products industry under the framework of The New Chapter of Thai Industry.

FTI focuses on driving forward through the 5I policy, with a core emphasis on I2: Innovation and Creative Industry, aimed at accelerating Thai entrepreneurs from merely being original equipment manufacturers (OEM) or traditional manufacturing sectors to adding value, creating brands, and developing their intellectual properties.

Dr. NatthaPasut also welcomed participants and discussed the current situation of the biotechnology industry, indicating that the world is entering a period of significant challenges and changes, driven by a population structure shifting towards a fully aging society and the need for environmental sustainability. Therefore, biotechnology is not merely an option but has become a crucial tool for driving the economy of the future.

Biotechnology will play a role in bringing innovations that address health and quality longevity needs, as well as developing environmentally friendly industries. It will bridge research and advanced technology to practical applications in the industry, transforming research on shelves into economic value in stores, and together create a New S-Curve for Thailand moving forward.
