The Federation of Thai Industries (FTI) held an orientation for the FTI Committee for the term 2026-2028 on Sunday, August 30, 2026, to promote understanding of the organizational structure, roles, responsibilities, ethics, contract execution, internal audit systems, and communication guidelines with the media, enabling committee members to execute their duties effectively, transparently, and cohesively at the Chatrium Ballroom, 4th floor, Chatrium Riverside Hotel, Bangkok.

The event began with a video introduction to the structure of the FTI Office to give the committee members an overview and understanding of the roles of each unit, including departments, institutes, industry groups, and provincial industrial councils, as well as the coordination mechanisms among the FTI Committee, executives, and office staff. 

Regarding the roles, responsibilities, ethics, and operational guidelines of the FTI Committee,
Mr. Panithan Pawarolthanawit, Secretary-General of the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI), explained the roles, responsibilities, ethics, and operational guidelines of the FTI Committee, emphasizing that the FTI serves as a representative of the industrial sector in linking the public and private sectors, jointly formulating policies, reflecting problems and proposals from entrepreneurs, and promoting standards, technology, knowledge, and competitiveness of the Thai industry.

Consequently, FTI Committee members are essential mechanisms in driving the organization's strategies, ranging from participating in meetings and offering opinions to advocating policies, providing consultations to members, and establishing cooperative networks with the public sector, private sector, educational institutions, and partners both domestically and internationally. They must perform their duties with integrity, transparency, fairness, neutrality in politics, and primarily focus on the interests of members and the industrial sector.

In this regard, FTI has established principles of operation for committee members under the concept of “Prepared, Committed, United, and Sacrificing,” along with enhancing the internal governance system, including reporting data from member groups, collecting specimen signatures, and verifying official emails to prevent impersonation, ensure transactional integrity, and enhance the organization's credibility in all aspects.

On contract execution and amendments to the FTI Act,
Mr. Kitti Tangjitrmanisakda, Senior Vice President of the FTI and head of the legal department, elaborated on the guidelines for contract execution, emphasizing that all units must operate correctly, transparently, and in accordance with the law. Additionally, any contract or memorandum of understanding (MOU) must undergo legal review and be signed by the FTI President or an officially authorized person to mitigate risks associated with scope of work, budgets, conditions, and timeframes that may not align with reality, particularly for government projects and international collaborations.

Furthermore, FTI is preparing to solicit problems and suggestions from members, industry groups, and provincial industrial councils nationwide, alongside conducting academic research to modernize the structure and the FTI Act to be more agile and aligned with the changing industrial context, aiming to elevate organizational management efficiency, transparency, accountability, and better address member needs.

Regarding the roles and responsibilities of the FTI Audit Committee and audit results,
Mr. Namchai Ekaphatnapha, Audit Committee member, outlined the roles and responsibilities of the Audit Committee and the results of reviewing the internal control system, aiming to encourage the FTI to operate according to the principles of good governance, with effective risk management systems, and to operate transparently and auditable, in order to build confidence among members, funders, government agencies, and stakeholders.
The audit covered the reception of financial support, project management, budget allocation, and performance monitoring, while recommending to elevate the approval process and internal control systems, clarify the responsibilities of accountable parties, enhance staff capability, and continuously improve data, financial systems, and risk monitoring to ensure that the FTI can manage projects rapidly and effectively, as well as ensure that funding is used efficiently, transparently, and achieves the project goals.

As for the guidelines for FTI's media interviews,
Dr. Piyanuch Malakul Na Ayudhya, Vice President of the FTI and head of the corporate communications division, clarified the media interview guidelines, emphasizing accurate, clear communication that aligns under the principle of “Single Message” to reflect the stance of the FTI as a stable, credible, and modern organization, while fostering a correct understanding among members, entrepreneurs, and the public.

In addition, information provided to the media should be based on facts and evidence, with prior data preparation, maintaining neutrality and compliance with organizational policies. Techniques such as PREP should be used for short, clear, and relevant responses, or STAR for systematically explaining situations, operational approaches, and outcomes to enhance the standards of FTI's communication to be unified, build confidence, and reflect the role of effectively representing the Thai industrial sector.

This orientation reflects the commitment of FTI to lay the foundational framework for the FTI Committee for the term 2026–2028, facilitating comprehensive understanding of its roles and responsibilities, including policy formulation, representing the industrial sector, supervising the organization, executing contracts, managing risks, and internal control, as well as communicating accurately and cohesively with the public.

The key principle is to perform duties with “Preparedness, Commitment, Unity, and Sacrifice,” adhering to legal principles, good governance, transparency, neutrality, and prioritizing the interests of members within the Thai industrial sector.
