"พิมพ์ใจ" ร่วมเปิดสำนักงานส่งเสริมเศรษฐกิจสร้างสรรค์ ภาคใต้ ปักหมุดสงขลาเป็นศูนย์กลางขับเคลื่อนเศรษฐกิจสร้างสรรค์ 14 จังหวัดภาคใต้"Pimjai" Joins Opening of Creative Economy Promotion Office in Southern Region, Marking Songkhla as a Central Hub for Creative Economy in 14 Southern Provinces

On Monday, June 8, 2026, Ms. Pimjai Leeissaranukul, President of the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI), and in her capacity as the Acting Chairman of the Creative Economy Agency (Public Organization), or CEA, participated in the opening ceremony and delivered a speech at the opening of the Southern Creative Economy Promotion Office (CEA Southern) located on Sai Buri Road, Bo Yang Sub-district, Mueang District, Songkhla Province, attended by Mr. Napinthorn Srisaraphang, Minister attached to the Prime Minister's Office, along with Mr. Rattasart Chidchuth, Governor of Songkhla Province, regional governors, representatives from government agencies, the private sector, educational institutions, and media representatives.

The Creative Economy Agency (CEA) officially opened the Southern Creative Economy Promotion Office under the concept “Refining Southern Spectrum: Merging Creative Light to Drive the Southern Economy,” with the aim of enhancing cultural capital, local identity, and creativity to create economic value while promoting the Southern region as a new national center for creative economy.

Ms. Pimjai stated that the opening of CEA Southern marks another significant milestone in driving Thailand's creative economy and represents an important step toward distributing economic opportunities to the region through the use of creativity, culture, design, and innovation as mechanisms to enhance competitiveness and foster sustainable growth.

CEA has the mission to develop people, businesses, cities, and create an ecosystem conducive to the growth of the creative industry nationwide, turning creativity into economic opportunities, especially in the Southern region, which has high potential due to cultural heritage, lifestyle, food, tourism, local wisdom, and diversity of its people.

Currently, the Southern region has over 9,600 creative businesses and a creative economy worth over 220 billion baht, reflecting that the South is not only a tourism destination but also an important creative economic base of Thailand.

The establishment of CEA Southern in Songkhla Province will serve as a central driver for the creative economy of 14 Southern provinces by developing the potential of personnel, entrepreneurs, cities, and collaborative networks, while leveraging regional strengths into new opportunities in Creative Wellness & Tourism and De-Stress Economy, aligning with global economic trends.

Additionally, within the CEA Southern building is the Songkhla Creative Design Center (TCDC Songkhla), which will be a space for learning, knowledge exchange, and capacity development in design for the public, students, designers, entrepreneurs, and communities in the region.

The opening of CEA Southern also completes the operational network of CEA across all four regions of Thailand to ensure that citizens can access knowledge, opportunities, and creative infrastructure comprehensively.

This new office will serve as a starting point for collaboration in transforming the cultural capital and identity of the South into high-value goods and services, generating income, creating jobs, and promoting the South as a livable, investment-friendly, and tourist-attractive area, while driving Thailand towards becoming a Creative Nation in the future.
