On August 4, 2026, the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI) held a meeting to discuss strategies for promoting ethanol for energy security and the industry of the future. The meeting was attended by Mr. Mongkol Hengrojan Sopon, Vice Chairman of FTI, and Chairman of the Energy Institute for Industry, along with Mr. Pipat Sutthiwiwat, Honorary President of the Thai Ethanol Producers Association, at meeting room 1010 C.P. This meeting focused on elevating and increasing the value of agricultural products, particularly sugarcane and cassava, to stimulate cash flow into the local economy and create stable income for farmers. Concurrently, it aimed to promote the Thailand Pragmatic Energy Transition to reduce dependence on imported fuel and increase the proportion of domestic renewable energy use, leading to long-term energy security for the country.
Additionally, the meeting discussed the importance of developing logistics infrastructure to support the future growth of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), which is a crucial mechanism for reducing greenhouse gas emissions, enhancing energy security, and improving the country's competitiveness in the long term. This development also plays a significant role in advancing Thailand toward a circular economy and a sustainable high-value bioeconomy.
