เมื่อวันที่ 2 มีนาคม 2569 นายเวทิต โชควัฒนา รองประธานสภาอุตสาหกรรมแห่งประเทศไทย (ส.อ.ท.) ได้รับมอบหมายจากนายเกรียงไกร เธียรนุกุล ประธาน ส.อ.ท. และประธานสภาธุรกิจ GMS ให้ทำหน้าที่ประธานในที่ประชุมคณะกรรมการสภาธุรกิจ GMS ครั้งที่ 1/2569 (The 1st GMS Business Council Board of Directors’ Meeting 2026) ณ ห้องประชุม PASSION (802) ส.อ.ท. และผ่านระบบออนไลน์
การประชุมครั้งนี้ สภาธุรกิจ GMS (ประเทศไทย) ทำหน้าที่เป็นเจ้าภาพ โดยมีสำนักเลขาธิการสภาธุรกิจ GMS เป็นผู้ดำเนินการประชุม มีผู้แทนสภาธุรกิจ GMS จากอีก 4 ประเทศสมาชิกเข้าร่วม ได้แก่ (1) Mr. Nguyen Vu Kien ประเทศเวียดนาม (2) Mr. Oudet Souvannavong สปป.ลาว (3) Mr. Moe Kyaw ประเทศเมียนมา และ (4) Mr. Brad Jing ประเทศจีน รวมถึงผู้แทนจากพันธมิตรเพื่อการพัฒนา (Development Partners) ได้แก่ ธนาคารพัฒนาเอเชีย (Asian Development Bank - ADB) และสถาบันความร่วมมือเพื่อพัฒนาเศรษฐกิจลุ่มน้ำโขง (Mekong Institute - MI)
การประชุมดังกล่าวเป็นเวทีหารือระหว่างภาคเอกชน ภายใต้กรอบความร่วมมือ Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS) ซึ่งเป็นกรอบความร่วมมือทางเศรษฐกิจของ 6 ประเทศในอนุภูมิภาคลุ่มแม่น้ำโขง โดยมีสาระสำคัญในการหารือ ดังนี้
1. สรุปผลการจัดงาน GMS Business Forum 2025 โดยสภาธุรกิจ GMS ประเทศไทย เป็นเจ้าภาพจัดงานเมื่อวันที่ 27 พฤศจิกายน 2568 ณ โรงแรมแชงกรี-ลา กรุงเทพฯ ซึ่งภายในงานมีการนำเสนอโครงการ Regional Investment Framework (RIF) 2025–2027 และ Flagship Projects ของแต่ละประเทศสมาชิก รวมถึงการหารือในสาขาความร่วมมือภายใต้กรอบ GMS และการจัด High-Level Dialogue Session ระหว่างผู้นำระดับสูงของภาครัฐและภาคเอกชนของประเทศสมาชิก
2. การนำเสนอรายชื่อผู้เชี่ยวชาญ เพื่อเข้ามามีส่วนร่วมในการติดตามและให้ข้อเสนอแนะในแต่ละสาขา ภายใต้กรอบ GMS หรือ GMS Expert Pools ซึ่งประกอบด้วย 10 สาขา ได้แก่ 1) เกษตรกรรม (Agriculture) 2) พลังงาน (Energy) 3) สิ่งแวดล้อม (Environment) 4) สุขภาพ (Health) 5) ทรัพยากรบุคคล (Human Resources) 6) การท่องเที่ยว (Tourism) 7) การขนส่ง (Transport) 8) การอำนวยความสะดวกทางการค้าและการลงทุน (Trade and Investment Facilitation) 9) การพัฒนาเมือง (Urban Development) และ 10) เทคโนโลยีสารสนเทศและการสื่อสาร (ICT)
3. สภาธุรกิจ GMS ประเทศไทย จะดำรงตำแหน่งประธานสภาธุรกิจ GMS ต่อเนื่องอีก 1 วาระ (วาระปี 2569–2570)
4. แนวทางการดำเนินงานภายใต้กรอบ GMS ในปี 2569 รวมถึงการเตรียมแผนการประชุมที่เกี่ยวข้อง
On March 2, 2026, Mr. Vetit Chokwatthana, Vice Chairman of the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI), was assigned by Mr. Kriangkrai Thiennukul, Chairman of FTI and Chairman of the GMS Business Council, to preside over the 1st GMS Business Council Board of Directors’ Meeting 2026 at the PASSION Meeting Room (802) of FTI and via online system.
This meeting was hosted by the GMS Business Council (Thailand), with the GMS Business Council Secretariat managing the meeting. Representatives from the GMS Business Council from four other member countries participated, including (1) Mr. Nguyen Vu Kien from Vietnam, (2) Mr. Oudet Souvannavong from Laos, (3) Mr. Moe Kyaw from Myanmar, and (4) Mr. Brad Jing from China, as well as representatives from Development Partners including the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the Mekong Institute (MI).
The meeting served as a platform for discussions among the private sector under the framework of the Greater Mekong Subregion (GMS), an economic cooperation framework among six countries in the Greater Mekong River sub-region. The key points of discussion included the following:
1. Summary of the GMS Business Forum 2025, hosted by the GMS Business Council Thailand on November 27, 2025, at the Shangri-La Hotel Bangkok, which presented the Regional Investment Framework (RIF) 2025–2027 and Flagship Projects from each member country, along with discussions on cooperation areas under the GMS framework and a High-Level Dialogue Session between senior leaders from the public and private sectors of member countries.
2. Presentation of a list of experts to participate in monitoring and providing recommendations in each sector under the GMS framework, or GMS Expert Pools, which comprise 10 sectors: 1) Agriculture, 2) Energy, 3) Environment, 4) Health, 5) Human Resources, 6) Tourism, 7) Transport, 8) Trade and Investment Facilitation, 9) Urban Development, and 10) Information and Communication Technology (ICT).
3. The GMS Business Council Thailand will maintain the chairmanship of the GMS Business Council for an additional term (term years 2026–2027).
4. Directions for operation under the GMS framework in 2026, including preparations for relevant meetings.
