เมื่อวันที่ 26 กุมภาพันธ์ 2569 นายเกรียงไกร เธียรนุกุล ประธานสภาอุตสาหกรรมแห่งประเทศไทย (ส.อ.ท.) พร้อมด้วย ดร.สมสิทธิ์ มูลสถาน ประธานกลุ่มอุตสาหกรรมป้องกันประเทศ และคณะสมาชิกกลุ่มอุตสาหกรรมฯ เข้าร่วมหารือกับพลเอก นภนต์ สร้างสมวงษ์ ประธานกรรมการบริหารสถาบันเทคโนโลยีป้องกันประเทศ (สทป.) และคณะ เพื่อแลกเปลี่ยนแนวทางการส่งเสริมและพัฒนาอุตสาหกรรมป้องกันประเทศของไทย ณ ห้องประชุมราชเสนีพิทักษ์ สถาบันเทคโนโลยีป้องกันประเทศ อาคารสำนักงานปลัดกระทรวงกลาโหม (แจ้งวัฒนะ) ชั้น 10
การหารือดังกล่าว ส.อ.ท. ได้นำเสนอแนวทางการส่งเสริมอุตสาหกรรมภายใต้วิสัยทัศน์ ONE FTI จากอุตสาหกรรมดั้งเดิมสู่อุตสาหกรรมแห่งอนาคต (Next-Gen Industries) โดยมุ่งผลักดันอุตสาหกรรมป้องกันประเทศ (Defense Industry) ให้เป็นอุตสาหกรรมเป้าหมายใหม่ (New S-Curve) ที่ช่วยเพิ่มขีดความสามารถด้านนวัตกรรมและสร้างมูลค่าทางเศรษฐกิจระดับสูง รวมถึงการส่งเสริม Parts Transformation จากอุตสาหกรรมชิ้นส่วนยานยนต์สู่อุตสาหกรรมป้องกันประเทศ ตลอดจนการสนับสนุนผู้ประกอบการภายในประเทศผ่านโครงการ MiT (Made in Thailand)
นอกจากนี้ ที่ประชุมยังได้หารือถึงประเด็นปัญหาเชิงโครงสร้างที่เป็นอุปสรรคต่อการเติบโตของอุตสาหกรรมป้องกันประเทศในไทย อาทิ ระบบการจัดซื้อจัดจ้าง กฎหมายและข้อจำกัดด้านการส่งออก ตลอดจนการขาดความร่วมมือเชิงบูรณาการระหว่างหน่วยงานที่เกี่ยวข้อง โดยมุ่งพิจารณาในภาพรวมเพื่อแสวงหาแนวทางแก้ไขร่วมกัน สร้างระบบนิเวศที่เอื้อต่อการพัฒนานวัตกรรม และยกระดับขีดความสามารถในการแข่งขันของผู้ประกอบการไทยอย่างเป็นรูปธรรม
ทั้งนี้ ส.อ.ท. และ สทป. เห็นพ้องร่วมกันในการขับเคลื่อนแนวทางดังกล่าวให้เกิดผลเป็นรูปธรรม ผ่านการจัดทำ Roadmap การพัฒนาอุตสาหกรรมป้องกันประเทศ เพื่อเป็นกลไกสำคัญในการพัฒนาอุตสาหกรรมแห่งอนาคตอย่างยั่งยืน ลดการพึ่งพาเทคโนโลยีจากต่างประเทศ และเสริมสร้างความมั่นคงทางเศรษฐกิจของประเทศในระยะยาว
On February 26, 2026, Mr. Kriangkrai Thiennukul, Chairman of the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI), along with Dr. Somsit Moonsatharn, Chairman of the Defense Industry Group, and members of the industry group, participated in a discussion with General Naphon Sangsmawong, Chairman of the Executive Board of the Defense Technology Institute (DTI), and his team, to exchange views on promoting and developing Thailand's defense industry at the Rajasenipithak meeting room, Defense Technology Institute, Office of the Ministry of Defense Building (Chaengwattana), 10th floor.
During the discussion, FTI presented its approach to promoting the industry under the vision ONE FTI, transitioning from traditional industries to Next-Gen Industries. The aim is to drive the defense industry to become a new target industry (New S-Curve), enhancing capabilities in innovation and generating high economic value. This includes promoting Parts Transformation from the automotive parts industry to the defense industry, as well as supporting domestic operators through the MiT (Made in Thailand) program.
Furthermore, the meeting addressed structural issues that are obstacles to the growth of the defense industry in Thailand, such as procurement systems, laws and export restrictions, as well as the lack of integrated cooperation among relevant agencies. The focus is on a comprehensive review to seek joint solutions, create an ecosystem conducive to innovation development, and elevate the competitiveness of Thai operators tangibly.
FTI and DTI agreed to drive these proposals towards concrete results by establishing a roadmap for the development of the defense industry as a crucial mechanism for the sustainable development of future industries, reducing dependence on foreign technology, and strengthening the country's long-term economic security.
