On Friday, January 30, 2026, the Northern Industrial Council convened the 4th meeting of its board, honored by the presence of Mr. Kriangkrai Thiennukul, Chairman of the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI), along with Mr. Tawi Piyapathana, Senior Vice Chairman of FTI, Mr. Apichit Prasoprat, Vice Chairman of FTI, Mr. Wiwat Hemmantharaph, Vice Chairman of FTI, and Dr. Darat Wipatakalas, Vice Chairman of FTI, participating in the meeting to listen to issues and suggestions from local members.

On this occasion, Dr. Supachai Wangpridealakul, Chairman of the Northern Industrial Council, opened the meeting, while Mr. Jakarin Wangwiwat, Chairman of the Chiang Mai Provincial Industrial Council as the host of the meeting, welcomed FTI executives and the board of the Northern Industrial Council at the Green Lake Resort Hotel, Chiang Mai Province.

For the key issues that the Northern Industrial Council needs to follow up on in the 4 provinces, they continue to drive important activities and projects to promote the economy and improve the quality of life of entrepreneurs in the region, with the following key ongoing issues:

1. The Golf Friendship Tournament for Upper Northern Provinces
Scheduled to be held on Sunday, February 8, 2026, at the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand Golf Course, Mae Moe, Lampang Province, to foster good relationships, provide opportunities for participants to meet, exchange opinions, and connect business collaboration networks, as well as support the strength of members within the same cluster.

2. The Development and Connection Project for Large-Scale Enterprises and SMEs in Lamphun Province
(Lamphun Tech Fair & Supply Chain 2025) is an exhibition showcasing the potential of SMEs in Lamphun Province, along with promoting business matching to connect SMEs with large-scale industries, aiming to establish a future supply chain that will enhance potential, create cooperation networks, and promote strong and sustainable economic growth in Lamphun Province.

3. The Promotion of the Lamphun Industry Run 2026
which is a health-running activity (Fun Run / Mini Marathon) organized in Lamphun Province, inviting local citizens, especially labor in the industrial sector and the general public, to participate in health and unity activities, with competition distances of both approximately 10 kilometers and 5 kilometers, scheduled for February 22, 2026, at the site of the temporary industrial estate in the Northern Industrial Estate Area, Lamphun Province.

4. Progress on the Chiang Mai Airport Development Project
including the consideration of opportunities and directions for industrial development in the Northern region in the future.
