เมื่อวันศุกร์ที่ 16 มกราคม 2569 นายเกรียงไกร เธียรนุกุล ประธานสภาอุตสาหกรรมแห่งประเทศไทย (ส.อ.ท.) พร้อมด้วยนายอภิชิต ประสพรัตน์ และนายชาติชาย พานิชชีวะ รองประธาน ส.อ.ท. เข้าร่วมการประชุมหารือด้านนโยบายการทูตเศรษฐกิจระหว่างกระทรวงการต่างประเทศและภาคเอกชนไทย โดยมีผู้แทนจากคณะกรรมการร่วมภาคเอกชน 3 สถาบัน (กกร.) และนายสีหศักดิ์ พวงเกตุแก้ว รัฐมนตรีว่าการกระทรวงการต่างประเทศ เข้าร่วมการประชุม ณ ห้องประชุมสัตตบงกช กระทรวงการต่างประเทศ
การประชุมดังกล่าวจัดขึ้นเพื่อรับฟังความคิดเห็นและข้อเสนอแนะจากคณะกรรมการร่วมภาคเอกชน 3 สถาบัน (กกร.) ได้แก่ สภาหอการค้าแห่งประเทศไทย สภาอุตสาหกรรมแห่งประเทศไทย และสมาคมธนาคารไทย เกี่ยวกับแนวทางการดำเนินนโยบายการทูตเศรษฐกิจของกระทรวงการต่างประเทศในปัจจุบัน โดยยึดหลัก “การทูตนำหน้า” เพื่อสนับสนุนภาคเอกชนในการดำเนินกิจกรรมทางธุรกิจของภาคเอกชนไทยในเวทีระหว่างประเทศ
ภายหลังการประชุม ได้มีการจัดงานแถลงข่าวยุทธศาสตร์การทูตด้านเศรษฐกิจ ซึ่งกำหนดเป้าหมายหลัก 3 ประการ ได้แก่ 1. การสร้างความเชื่อมั่นต่อประเทศไทยในสายตาประชาคมโลก (Confidence) 2. การส่งเสริมขีดความสามารถในการแข่งขันของภาคเอกชนไทย (Competitiveness) และ 3. การสร้างพันธมิตรและหุ้นส่วนทางเศรษฐกิจให้กับประเทศ (Collaboration & Partnership)
นอกจากนี้ ยังให้ความสำคัญกับการกำหนดยุทธศาสตร์ทางเศรษฐกิจ โดยคำนึงถึงบริบทโลกที่ท้าทายในปัจจุบัน การรักษาตลาดส่งออกเดิม การเพิ่มตลาดใหม่ อาทิ ภูมิภาคแอฟริกา และตะวันออกกลาง รวมทั้งการส่งเสริมการสร้างหุ้นส่วนกับประเทศและภูมิภาคต่าง ๆ ในอนาคต
On Friday, January 16, 2026, Mr. Kriangkrai Theeranukul, Chairman of the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI), along with Mr. Apiwat Prasoprat and Mr. Chatchai Panichchivo, Vice Chairmen of FTI, participated in a discussion meeting regarding economic diplomacy policy between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Thai private sector, with representatives from the Joint Private Sector Committee of three institutions (JSCC) and Mr. Sihasak Phuangketkeaw, Minister of Foreign Affairs, in attendance at the meeting held at the Sattabongkot Conference Room, Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
This meeting was organized to gather opinions and suggestions from the Joint Private Sector Committee of three institutions (JSCC), which includes the Thai Chamber of Commerce, the Federation of Thai Industries, and the Thai Bankers' Association, regarding the current implementation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' economic diplomacy policy. The principle of “Diplomacy Leads” was emphasized to support the private sector in conducting business activities in international arenas.
After the meeting, a press conference on the economic diplomacy strategy was held, outlining three main objectives: 1. Building confidence in Thailand in the eyes of the global community (Confidence), 2. Enhancing the competitiveness of Thai private sector (Competitiveness), and 3. Creating economic alliances and partnerships for the country (Collaboration & Partnership).
In addition, the importance of formulating economic strategies was highlighted, taking into account the current global context which presents challenges, maintaining existing export markets, and exploring new markets such as the African region and the Middle East, along with promoting the establishment of partnerships with different countries and regions in the future.
