Green Business

On December 26, 2025, the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI), led by Mr. Chanit Chanchai Narong, Vice Chairman of the Small and Medium Enterprise Development Institute (SMI), and Mr. Ek Buraphong, Executive Director of FTI, attended the press conference to launch the “SMEs Credit Boost” loan guarantee mechanism aimed at strengthening support for SME operators to enhance their access to funding. This event took place at the Patrajai Room, Bank of Thailand.
The SMEs Credit Boost initiative is a special measure resulting from collaboration among the Ministry of Finance, the Bank of Thailand, and commercial banks. Its primary goal is to address the contraction of loans to small businesses and support the adaptation of Thai SMEs based on four operational principles: targeted assistance, economic impact creation, equitable distribution of support, and operational agility.
A key highlight of the program is the expectation to stimulate new loans within the system of up to 100 billion Baht, with a significant feature being the “no guarantee fees,” which helps reduce the financial costs directly for operators. Furthermore, the initiative focuses on industries such as tourism, healthcare, agriculture processing, logistics, and businesses aiming to transition to Digital Business and Green Business.
Regarding the guarantee mechanism, compensation for losses will be based on risk levels, with Micro SMEs receiving a maximum guarantee of 30%, Small SMEs at 20%, and Medium enterprises at 15% of the loan portfolio. The guarantee period will not exceed 7 years.
The SMEs Credit Boost program will be open for SME operators to contact and apply for loans through participating commercial banks starting from January 15, 2026, covering loans disbursed within the program's two-year duration.
