เมื่อวันที่ 23 ธันวาคม 2568 นายเกรียงไกร เธียรนุกุล ประธานสภาอุตสาหกรรมแห่งประเทศไทย (ส.อ.ท.) ร่วมเป็นประธานในพิธีสถาปนากลุ่มอุตสาหกรรมป้องกันประเทศ วาระปี 2567–2569 และวาระปี 2569–2571 ซึ่งเป็นกลุ่มอุตสาหกรรมลำดับที่ 48 ณ ห้องประชุม PTT Group (1012) ส.อ.ท.
ภายในงานได้รับเกียรติจาก นายกฤษณ์ อิ่มแสง เลขาธิการ ส.อ.ท. นางสาวเพชรรัตน์ เอกแสงกุล รองประธาน ส.อ.ท. พร้อมด้วยพลเอกวัฒนา ฉัตรรัตนแสง อดีตผู้อำนวยการศูนย์อุตสาหกรรมป้องกันประเทศและพลังงานทหาร พลเอกพอพล มณีรินทร์ อดีตประธานกรรมการสถาบันเทคโนโลยีป้องกันประเทศ พันเอกจิรศักดิ์ จิ้วไม้แดง รองผู้อำนวยการสถาบันเทคโนโลยีป้องกันประเทศ นาวาเอก ปิยะนันท์ แก้วมณี รองผู้อำนวยการสำนักส่งเสริมอุตสาหกรรมป้องกันประเทศ ศูนย์อุตสาหกรรมป้องกันประเทศและพลังงานทหาร และนางสาวพรรรัตน์ เพชรภักดี ผู้อำนวยการใหญ่ ส.อ.ท. เข้าร่วมงานดังกล่าว

ทั้งนี้ นายเกรียงไกร ได้กล่าวถึงสถานการณ์โลกที่เผชิญความผันผวนจากความขัดแย้งทางภูมิรัฐศาสตร์ ส่งผลให้หลายประเทศให้ความสำคัญกับความมั่นคงของชาติและการพึ่งพาตนเองมากขึ้น โดยอุตสาหกรรมป้องกันประเทศไม่เพียงเกี่ยวข้องกับความมั่นคงทางทหารเท่านั้น แต่ยังเชื่อมโยงกับห่วงโซ่อุปทาน เทคโนโลยี และเสถียรภาพทางเศรษฐกิจของประเทศ
ส.อ.ท. มีนโยบายขับเคลื่อนยุทธศาสตร์ยกระดับอุตสาหกรรมจากอุตสาหกรรมเดิม (First Industries) สู่อุตสาหกรรมแห่งอนาคต (Next-Gen Industries) ภายใต้นโยบาย “4 GO” ได้แก่ Go Digital & AI, Go Innovation, Go Global และ Go Green เพื่อเสริมสร้างขีดความสามารถในการแข่งขันของผู้ประกอบการไทย และรองรับอุตสาหกรรมแห่งอนาคต
การจัดตั้งกลุ่มอุตสาหกรรมป้องกันประเทศ ซึ่งเป็นกลุ่มอุตสาหกรรมลำดับที่ 48 ภายใต้ ส.อ.ท. จะเป็นกลไกสำคัญในการส่งเสริมการวิจัย พัฒนา และนวัตกรรมด้านเทคโนโลยีความมั่นคง สนับสนุนการลดการนำเข้า ส่งเสริมสินค้า Made in Thailand (MiT) เพิ่มมูลค่าทางเศรษฐกิจ และต่อยอดเทคโนโลยีสู่การใช้งานเชิงพาณิชย์และภาคพลเรือน พร้อมแสดงความเชื่อมั่นว่าการสถาปนากลุ่มอุตสาหกรรมป้องกันประเทศจะเป็นจุดเริ่มต้นสำคัญในการขับเคลื่อนอุตสาหกรรมไทย เสริมสร้างความมั่นคงของประเทศ และยกระดับประเทศไทยสู่การเป็นศูนย์กลางอุตสาหกรรมป้องกันประเทศในระดับภูมิภาคอย่างยั่งยืน
On December 23, 2025, Mr. Kriangkrai Thiennukul, Chairman of the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI), presided over the establishment ceremony of the Defense Industry Group for the term 2024–2026 and the term 2026–2028, marking it as the 48th industry group at the PTT Group Meeting Room (1012) of FTI.
The event was honored by the presence of Mr. Kritsana Imsaeng, Secretary-General of FTI, Ms. Pecharat Aeksangkul, Vice Chairman of FTI, along with General Wattanachatrattanasaeng, former Director of the Defense Industry and Military Energy Center, General Pophol Maneerin, former Chairman of the Defense Technology Institute, Colonel Jirasak Jiwaidaeng, Deputy Director of the Defense Technology Institute, Naval Captain Piyanun Kaewmanee, Deputy Director of the Defense Industry Promotion Bureau, Defense Industry and Military Energy Center, and Ms. Pharnrat Phetrakhadee, Director-General of FTI, who attended the ceremony.
Mr. Kriangkrai had the honor of declaring the establishment of the Defense Industry Group and presented flowers to Dr. Somsit Moonsathan, Chairman of the Defense Industry Group.
Additionally, Mr. Kriangkrai addressed the current global situation that is facing volatility due to geopolitical conflicts, leading many countries to place greater importance on national security and self-reliance. He emphasized that the defense industry is not only related to military security but is also interconnected with the supply chain, technology, and economic stability of the nation.
FTI has a policy to drive the strategy of elevating industries from traditional industries (First Industries) to future industries (Next-Gen Industries) under the “4 GO” policy, including Go Digital & AI, Go Innovation, Go Global, and Go Green, to enhance the competitiveness of Thai entrepreneurs and support future industries.
The establishment of the Defense Industry Group as the 48th industry group under FTI will serve as a crucial mechanism to promote research, development, and innovation in security technology, support the reduction of imports, promote Made in Thailand (MiT) products, increase economic value, and extend technology to commercial and civilian applications. It is believed that the establishment of the Defense Industry Group will be a significant starting point for advancing Thai industry, enhancing national security, and sustainably elevating Thailand to a regional hub for the defense industry.
