ส.อ.ท. ร่วมพิธีเปิดสำนักงาน BOI นครเฉิงตู หนุนเชื่อมโยงนักลงทุนไทย–จีน ดึงอุตสาหกรรมเทคโนโลยีขั้นสูง เสริมศักยภาพห่วงโซ่อุปทานโลกFTI Attends the Opening Ceremony of the BOI Office in Chengdu to Enhance Thai–Chinese Investor Connectivity and Attract High-Tech Industries, Strengthening Global Supply Chain Capabilities

On July 18, 2026, Mrs. Pimjai Leeissaranukul, President of the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI), along with Mr. Sakchai Unjittikul, Senior Vice President of FTI, and Mr. Veerachai Muntinthorn, Vice President of FTI and President of the Thailand-China Economic and Investment Institute, attended the opening ceremony of the Office of the Board of Investment (BOI) at the Royal Thai Consulate General in Chengdu to enhance investment and trade relations between Thailand and China, as well as to create networks between the public and private sectors of Thailand and China. Additionally, they aimed to learn from the technological advancements of leading companies in China, which will lead to sustainable economic growth and investment for both countries in Chengdu, Sichuan Province, People's Republic of China.

The event was honored by Mr. Anutin Charnveerakul, Prime Minister, as the ceremony's chairman, alongside Mr. Ekanit Nittithanprapath, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, and Mr. Seeraksa Puangketkaew, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, as well as Mr. Narutam Terdsathirasak, Secretary-General of the Board of Investment (BOI), along with representatives from the public sector, private sector, and investors from Thailand and the People's Republic of China attending the event to officially open the new BOI office, which will serve as a hub for promoting investments and connecting investors from Western China to Thailand while expanding opportunities for trade, investment, and industry cooperation between Thailand and China.

The opening of the BOI office in Chengdu marks a significant step in expanding Thailand's investment promotion network in China, being the 18th BOI office abroad and the 4th in China, following Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangzhou, to accommodate the economic and investment growth from Western China, which is a base for high-potential industrial and innovation development.

The FTI believes that the establishment of the BOI office in Chengdu will be a crucial mechanism in connecting economic and investment opportunities between Thailand and China more firmly, with a focus on attracting investments from China into Thailand's target industries, such as electronics and semiconductors, electric vehicles (EV), aerospace, biotechnology, and modern manufacturing, which will help elevate the competitiveness of the Thai industrial sector while strengthening the regional and global supply chain.

On the same occasion, the FTI delegation attended the Thailand–China (Sichuan) Investment and Economic Forum 2026, a platform to showcase investment potential in Thailand and exchange views on economic and investment matters between the public and private sectors of both countries, including participating in Business Matching activities to create networks and seek business cooperation opportunities between Thai and Chinese entrepreneurs, particularly in future industries and high-tech sectors.

The FTI is committed to closely supporting cooperation with the BOI to drive investments from China to connect concretely with the Thai industrial sector, in forms such as Joint Ventures, technology transfer, supply chain development, and adding value to Thai industries. Additionally, it will promote Thai industries to invest abroad (Outbound Investment), leading to enhanced competitive potential of the Thai industrial sector in the long term and fostering sustainable economic relations between Thailand and China.
