On November 11-12, 2025, the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI), through the Small and Medium Enterprises Institute for the Manufacturing Industry (SMI) and the Digital Institute for Industry (IDTI), in collaboration with Chulalongkorn Business School, and receiving budget support from the Bureau of Human Resource Development and the Bureau of Higher Education, Research and Innovation Development (BPRi), Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research, and Innovation (MHESI), organized a training workshop for the course “Smart SMEs Go Digital & AI: Fast Thinking, Quick Action, and Ready to Compete,” for the third generation, with 145 participating SMEs in the manufacturing sector. Participants learned and engaged in hands-on applications of Generative AI (Gen AI) to enhance efficiency and reduce costs in the digital era at the Avani Bangkok Hotel.
The results from the training revealed that business operators could effectively apply Gen AI in various dimensions of the manufacturing industry, such as creating delivery routes in logistics, developing Financial Dashboards, connecting production data in agriculture and fisheries in real-time, as well as forecasting sales, among others.
Going forward, business operators will implement Gen AI in their organizations and return for consultation in the second phase, anticipating that the use cases for each organization will be able to assess value, returns, reduce losses, and tangibly enhance business efficiency.
