On July 15, 2026, the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI) collaborated with the Employers’ Confederation of Thailand (ECONTHAI), the Thai Feed Mill Association (TFMA), and CP Group to organize a seminar titled "Responsible Business Conduct (RBC): From Principles to Practice." Mr. Suchart Chanthararak is the Vice Chairman of FTI and served as the opening speaker at the event, which saw more than 100 Thai entrepreneurs participate via Zoom Meeting.

Mr. Suchart stated that sustainability standards and ESG criteria have become new rules for global trade and investment. The principles of Responsible Business Conduct (RBC), as guided by international frameworks such as the OECD Guidelines and the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights (UNGPs), are transitioning into legal regulations and international trade, such as the European Union’s Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD). This directly impacts the supply chains of Thai businesses of all sizes.

This seminar resulted from the collaboration of various agencies aimed at linking theoretical knowledge to concrete practices, enabling Thai entrepreneurs to adapt, reduce legal risks and enhance their corporate image while building a competitive advantage in the sustainable global trade arena.

The event featured two distinguished speakers. In the first session, Ms. Saori Nitta, Deputy Director of the Europe Division at the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO), delivered a presentation on global trends in responsible business conduct, highlighting the increasing enforcement of laws related to forced labor and comprehensive human rights due diligence (HRDD) in multiple countries. She also presented a survey on the operational status of Japanese companies and case studies beneficial to Thai entrepreneurs.

In the second session, Mr. Supachai Srirattanarat, Deputy Director for Sustainability Development at the CP Group's Bureau of Sustainability, Governance, and Corporate Communication, presented on practices for respecting human rights in responsible supply chains following the RBC principles. He covered the significance of human rights respect to organizations, along with actionable approaches for implementing HRDD and RBC, and advised entrepreneurs, particularly SMEs, to start from the principle of "Know, Prevent, Respond" alongside developing human rights policies, conducting HRDD processes, and establishing accessible complaint and remediation mechanisms.

At the conclusion of the seminar, Dr. Nawarath Songsawadchai, Chairman of the Employers’ Confederation of Thailand (ECONTHAI), remarked that this collaboration among agencies will be key to building confidence in the Thai business sector, especially for SMEs, enabling them to sustainably integrate into the supply chains of leading global companies. He encouraged entrepreneurs to take small steps in implementing these practices within their organizations.
