เมื่อวันที่ 2 กันยายน 2568 ดร.วิบูลย์ รักสาสน์เจริญผล รองเลขาธิการ สภาอุตสาหกรรมแห่งประเทศไทย (ส.อ.ท.) เข้าร่วมกล่าวเปิด Bangkok Breathe Cities Workshop ณ ห้อง Moonlight พิพิธภัณฑ์บ้านจิม ทอมป์สัน ร่วมกับผู้ว่าราชการกรุงเทพมหานคร นายชัชชาติ สิทธิพันธุ์, Mike Saxton ผู้อำนวยการโครงการ Breathe Cities, Nadezha Bobcheva รองนายกเทศมนตรีกรุงโซเฟีย ประเทศบัลแกเรีย, Vivain Pun หัวหน้าฝ่ายเทคนิคโครงการ Breathe Cities และอเล็กซ์ เรนเดลล์ นักแสดงและผู้ร่วมก่อตั้งองค์กรศูนย์สิ่งเเวดล้อมศึกษาประเทศไทย (EEC)
โครงการ Breathe Cities เป็นโครงการระดับโลกที่มุ่งแก้ไขปัญหามลพิษทางอากาศในเมืองใหญ่ ภายใต้ความร่วมมือของ Clean Air Fund, C40 Cities และ Bloomberg Philanthropies โดยมุ่งยกระดับคุณภาพชีวิตของประชากรผ่านการวัดคุณภาพอากาศ วิเคราะห์สาเหตุมลพิษ และวางแนวทางป้องกันเชิงระบบเพื่อความยั่งยืน
นายชัชชาติ กล่าวว่า กรุงเทพมหานครเป็นหนึ่งใน 14 เมืองทั่วโลกที่เข้าร่วมโครงการนี้ โดยจะมีโครงการพัฒนาหลากหลายด้าน ทั้งการตรวจวัดคุณภาพอากาศ การวิเคราะห์สาเหตุมลพิษ และการวางแผนลด PM2.5 อย่างเป็นระบบ เพื่อสร้างเมืองที่ควบคุมมลพิษได้อย่างยั่งยืน
ดร.วิบูลย์ เสริมว่า ส.อ.ท. จะร่วมมือกับกรุงเทพมหานครในการแก้ไขปัญหามลพิษทางอากาศ พร้อมนำแนวคิดและประสบการณ์จากทั่วโลกมาปรับใช้ในกรุงเทพฯ เพื่อสร้างเมืองที่มีสุขภาพดีและสิ่งแวดล้อมที่ดี ซึ่งเป็นรากฐานของการเติบโตทางเศรษฐกิจและคุณภาพชีวิตของประชาชน
On September 2, 2025, Dr. Wiboon Raksasancharoenphol, the Deputy Secretary-General of the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI), participated in the opening of the Bangkok Breathe Cities Workshop at the Moonlight Room of the Jim Thompson House Museum, alongside Bangkok Governor Mr. Chadchart Sittipunt, Mike Saxton, Director of the Breathe Cities Project, Nadezha Bobcheva, Deputy Mayor of Sofia, Bulgaria, Vivain Pun, Head of Technical for the Breathe Cities Project, and Alex Rendell, actor and co-founder of the Environmental Education Center Thailand (EEC).
The Breathe Cities project is a global initiative aimed at addressing air pollution in major cities, under the collaboration of the Clean Air Fund, C40 Cities, and Bloomberg Philanthropies, focusing on enhancing the quality of life for citizens through air quality measurement, pollution source analysis, and systematic preventive strategies for sustainability.
Mr. Chadchart stated that Bangkok is one of 14 cities worldwide participating in this project, which will involve various development initiatives, including air quality monitoring, pollution source analysis, and systematic planning to reduce PM2.5, with the aim of creating a sustainably pollution-controlled city.
Dr. Wiboon added that FTI will collaborate with Bangkok in addressing air pollution issues, leveraging ideas and experiences from around the world to enhance Bangkok’s health and environmental quality, which is a foundation for economic growth and the quality of life for the citizens.
