ส.อ.ท. ลงพื้นที่เรียนรู้โมเดล ‘Water War Room’ ภาคตะวันออก เสริมศักยภาพการบริหารจัดการน้ำอย่างยั่งยืนFTI Explores ‘Water War Room’ Model in the Eastern Region to Enhance Sustainable Water Management

On August 14, 2025, the Institute for Sustainable Water and Environmental Management of the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI), led by Dr. Chana Poommee, Vice President of FTI and Chairman of the Institute, along with executives from water management agencies and the private sector, visited the Water War Room in the Eastern region at the Office of Irrigation 9, Bang Phra Subdistrict, Si Racha District, Chonburi Province, to study water management and exchange experiences in integrated water management.

The Eastern Water War Room serves as a collaborative model between government agencies, state enterprises, and the private sector, covering three provinces: Chachoengsao, Chonburi, and Rayong. Its key mission is to monitor the water situation, forecast risks, collect and analyze data related to water source development projects and water distribution through the water supply network, propose preventive measures and solutions, as well as promote water management projects in the area to enable accurate decision-making, reduce risks, and respond to situations timely.

The model's strengths lie in transparent and timely communication, which allows all sectors to access real-time situations, reduce discrepancies in assessments, and build mutual trust. Moreover, it includes a continuous meeting and coordination system to adjust water management plans in accordance with local conditions and actual water usage needs.

Following the success in the Eastern region, the Institute is preparing to apply this approach to other areas facing water challenges, such as Prachinburi Province, which is experiencing industrial expansion and increasing water demand. The focus will be on proactive planning, developing sufficient water infrastructure, and balancing economic growth with community water requirements sustainably.

Dr. Chana Poommee highlighted the importance of the operation, stating, “The Eastern Water Operation Center is not just a mechanism to monitor water situations; it is also a platform for cooperation and information exchange, helping all parties make precise decisions, reduce impacts, and enhance long-term water security.”
This visit allowed participants to observe the actual working process, from data collection, forecasting, and trend analysis to determining measures to address water issues in the area, while exchanging constructive opinions that could serve as a model for other regions across the country.

FTI is confident that effective water management requires “real data, transparency, and collaboration,” and when the government and the private sector work together, they are certain that the water crisis can be turned into a significant opportunity for sustainable national development.
