เมื่อวันที่ 15 กรกฎาคม 2568 ดร.วิรัช ฉัตรดรงค์ รองประธานสายงานเศรษฐกิจและวิชาการ สภาอุตสาหกรรมแห่งประเทศไทย (ส.อ.ท.) เข้าร่วมเป็นเป็นวิทยากรเสวนาในงาน S&P Global Ratings และ TRIS Rating ภายใต้หัวข้อเรื่อง “Challenges and Opportunities from the Shift in Global Trade and Supply Chain” ร่วมกับนายไกรลักขณ์ อัศวฉัตรโรจน์ บมจ. ดับบลิวเอชเอ คอร์ปอเรชั่น (WHA) และเย็บ ซู ชวน (Mr.Yeap Swee Chuan) ประธานและประธานเจ้าหน้าที่บริหาร บริษัท อาปิโก ไฮเทค จำกัด (มหาชน) ณ ห้องฉัตรา 1-2 โรงแรมสยามเคมปินสกี้ กรุงเทพฯ
การเสวนาครั้งนี้ ดร.วิรัช ได้กล่าวถึง สถานการณ์การปรับขึ้นภาษีนำเข้าของสหรัฐฯ ทั้งมาตรการภาษีเฉพาะประเทศ (Country-Specific Tariff) มาตรการภาษีเฉพาะสินค้า (Product-Sectoral Tariff) ซึ่งมีการปรับขึ้นภาษีสินค้าบางรายการสูงถึง 50% เช่น เหล็ก และอะลูมิเนียม เป็นต้น และมาตรการภาษีศุลกากรแบบตอบโต้ (Reciprocal Tariff) โดยสังเขป ซึ่งมาตรการเหล่านี้ มีแนวโน้มส่งผลกระทบต่ออุตสาหกรรมของไทย แต่ระดับผลกระทบจะขึ้นอยู่กับสัดส่วนการพึ่งพาตลาดสหรัฐฯ เป็นสำคัญ ตัวอย่างเช่น อุปกรณ์อิเล็กทรอนิกส์ ฮาร์ดดิสก์ไดรฟ์ คอมพิวเตอร์และส่วนประกอบ และยางรถยนต์ ตลอดจนอาหารสัตว์เลี้ยง กลุ่มสินค้าเหล็ก และอะลูมิเนียม เป็นต้น
ทั้งนี้ แนวทางการปรับตัวของภาคอุตสาหกรรมไทย เพื่อรองรับความไม่แน่นอนทางเศรษฐกิจผ่านนโยบายหลักของ ส.อ.ท. ด้วย 4GO ได้แก่ GO Digital & AI, GO Innovation, GO Global และ GO Green เพื่อเพิ่มขีดความสามารถในการแข่งขันของประเทศ รวมทั้ง การบูรณาการความร่วมมือระหว่างภาครัฐและภาคเอกชน ทั้งการเร่งเจรจาการค้ากับสหรัฐฯ การหาตลาดส่งออกใหม่ที่มีศักยภาพ มาตรการเยียวยาและสนับสนุนผู้ประกอบการที่ได้รับผลกระทบ เพื่อร่วมกันขับเคลื่อนเศรษฐกิจและอุตสาหกรรมไทยต่อไป
On July 15, 2025, Dr. Virach Chaturong, Vice President of the Economic and Academic Division of the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI), participated as a speaker at the S&P Global Ratings and TRIS Rating seminar under the topic “Challenges and Opportunities from the Shift in Global Trade and Supply Chain,” alongside Mr. Krailak Anuchatraroj of WHA Corporation Public Company Limited and Mr. Yeap Swee Chuan, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Apico Hitech Public Company Limited, at Chatra Room 1-2, Siam Kempinski Hotel, Bangkok.
During the seminar, Dr. Virach discussed the situation regarding the increase in import tariffs by the United States, including country-specific tariffs and product-sectoral tariffs, which have led to tariff hikes on certain items by as much as 50%, such as steel and aluminum, as well as reciprocal tariffs. These measures are likely to impact Thailand's industries; however, the extent of the impact will primarily depend on the level of dependence on the U.S. market. For instance, electronic equipment, hard disk drives, computers and components, and tires, as well as pet food, steel products, and aluminum, are among those affected.
To adapt to economic uncertainties, the Thai industrial sector, through FTI's main policy of 4GO, including GO Digital & AI, GO Innovation, GO Global, and GO Green, aims to enhance the country's competitiveness. This includes fostering collaboration between the public and private sectors, expediting trade negotiations with the U.S., seeking new potential export markets, and implementing measures to support affected businesses, in order to jointly drive the Thai economy and industry forward.
