เมื่อวันที่ 17 มิถุนายน 2568 นายวิเชาวน์ รักพงษ์ไพโรจน์ พร้อมด้วย ดร.นิลสุวรรณ ลีลารัศมี นายอรินทร์ จิรา รองประธานสภาอุตสาหกรรมแห่งประเทศไทย (ส.อ.ท.) และ ผู้แทนสายงานต่างประเทศ สายงานการค้าการลงทุน และสถาบันการเปลี่ยนแปลงสภาพภูมิอากาศ ได้ให้การต้อนรับและหารือกับนางสาวภัทรัตน์ หงษ์ทอง เอกอัครราชทูตไทยประจำสาธารณรัฐออสเตรีย ณ ห้องมงคลสุธี ส.อ.ท.
ทั้งสองฝ่ายได้หารือถึงโอกาสการค้า การลงทุน ระหว่างไทยและออสเตรีย โดยเฉพาะสาขาเทคโนโลยีสีเขียวและพลังงานสะอาด ซึ่งทางฝ่ายออสเตรียมีองค์ความรู้และเทคโนโลยีที่เป็นประโยชน์ต่อการพัฒนาอุตสาหกรรมไทย โดย ส.อ.ท. เสนอความต้องการที่จะร่วมมือกับธุรกิจนวัตกรรมสีเขียวของออสเตรียใน 3 สาขา ได้แก่ 1.การผลิตเหล็กสีเขียว (Green steel) 2.การผลิตไฟฟ้าจากพลังงานน้ำ และ 3.ระบบรางรถไฟ
นอกจากนี้ ส.อ.ท. เห็นควรให้เร่งการเจรจาเขตการค้าเสรี (FTA) ไทย-สหภาพยุโรป ซึ่งจะช่วยเพิ่มโอกาสให้กับสินค้านำเข้าและส่งออกของสองประเทศได้ในอนาคต
On June 17, 2025, Mr. Vichawan Rakkhaphongphairoj, together with Dr. Nilsuwan Leelarasamee and Mr. Arin Jira, Vice President of the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI), and representatives from the International Trade and Investment Department and the Climate Change Institute, welcomed and discussed with Ms. Phatarat Hongthong, the Thai Ambassador to the Republic of Austria at the Mongkolsuthee Room of FTI.
Both parties discussed trade and investment opportunities between Thailand and Austria, particularly in the areas of green technology and clean energy, where the Austrian side possesses knowledge and technologies beneficial for the development of Thai industries. FTI expressed its desire to collaborate with Austrian green innovation businesses in three sectors: 1. Green Steel production 2. Hydropower generation, and 3. Railway systems.
In addition, FTI suggested expediting negotiations on the Thailand-European Union Free Trade Agreement (FTA), which would enhance opportunities for imports and exports between the two countries in the future.
