เมื่อวันที่ 11 มีนาคม 2568 นายเกรียงไกร เธียรนุกุล ประธานสภาอุตสาหกรรมแห่งประเทศไทย (ส.อ.ท.) พร้อมด้วยนายชาติชาย พานิชชีวะ และ ดร.นิลสุวรรณ ลีลารัศมี รองประธาน ส.อ.ท. และคณะกรรมการฯ ร่วมให้การต้อนรับ Ms. Renita Bhaskar อัครราชทูตที่ปรึกษา และหัวหน้าฝ่ายการค้าและเศรษฐกิจ คณะผู้แทนสหภาพยุโรปประจำประเทศไทย ณ ห้องมงคลสุธี ชั้น 8 ส.อ.ท.
ทั้งสองฝ่ายได้หารือและแลกเปลี่ยนความคิดเห็นในประเด็นความร่วมมือระหว่างกัน อาทิ กรอบความตกลงว่าด้วยความเป็นหุ้นส่วนและความร่วมมือรอบด้าน (PCA) ไทย-EU มาตรการปรับราคาคาร์บอนก่อนข้ามพรมแดน (CBAM) ตลอดจนประเด็นการค้าและเศรษฐกิจ อาทิ การเจรจาการค้าเสรี (FTA) ไทย-EU ซึ่งจะช่วยสร้างโอกาสด้านการค้าและการลงทุนระหว่างไทยและสหภาพยุโรป ซึ่งประเทศไทยจะได้รับประโยชน์จาก FTA ดังกล่าว เนื่องจากสหภาพยุโรปเป็นตลาดขนาดใหญ่ ประกอบด้วย 27 ประเทศ ทั้งนี้นอกเหนือจากการขยายโอกาสทางการค้าและการลงทุนกับ EU แล้ว ยังเป็นโอกาสในการช่วยเพิ่มขีดความสามารถในการแข่งขันของไทยอีกด้วย
On March 11, 2025, Mr. Kriangkrai Theeranukul, Chairman of the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI), along with Mr. Chatichai Panichewa and Dr. Nilsuwanna Leelarasamee, Vice Chairmen of FTI, and the committee members welcomed Ms. Renita Bhaskar, Minister Counsellor and Head of Trade and Economic Section, European Union Delegation to Thailand at the Mongkol Suthi Room, 8th Floor, FTI.
The two parties discussed and exchanged views on cooperation between them, such as the Partnership and Cooperation Agreement (PCA) between Thailand and the EU, the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM), and trade and economic issues including the Thailand-EU Free Trade Agreement (FTA), which will help create trade and investment opportunities between Thailand and the European Union. Thailand stands to benefit from this FTA as the European Union represents a large market consisting of 27 countries. In addition to expanding trade and investment opportunities with the EU, this also presents a chance to enhance Thailand's competitiveness.
